It's a typical Cherokee / Maggie valley / Gatlinburg type of gift shop, lots of things to choose from lots of screen printed shirts. I happened to buy a pair of sunglasses cuz they were only $9.99 and I actually found a pair that I sort of liked for a change. I was a little perturbed when I went to pay and had to pay an extra processing fee for using my credit card. Look I get it that it cost to process credit cards, but if you're a business and you're smart what you're going to do is you're going to factor that into your prices already. I can't stand thinking I'm paying one amount and then there's several charges I don't expect when I go to pay and so I'm not paying what I thought I was going to pay for the product. Just mark up the prices a dollar or two and don't add an extra charge when you're ringing people up, it's frustrating. I like to know before I buy the product what I'm paying for the product. You might say well if they pay cash there's no extra fees. You know when a person goes to pay for product, and they're paying cash not credit card and you say, oh since you're paying cash it's going to be less than the sticker price. You're going to have people leaving on a happy note. And if someone's paying with credit card they don't get hit with a hidden fee they weren't expecting cuz it's...
Read moreThe manager of this shop is so kind and helpful. My children and I stopped in to get help with directions. She took the time to help me and guide me on my way (and also calm my crazy nerves). We left and made it to our destination. After a week of being back home I listened to a voicemail from my librarian. It was a message saying that she had received a call from Maggie's best in Maggie valley that my son had left his wallet and the only ID they had to find the owner was his library card. Now the manager is shipping the wallet to my home. She told me she looked up and down the shops to find us, but when she couldn't she made sure the wallet was tucked away. I am so thankful for thoughtful and caring people like her. I appreciate you and your staff, and your lovely store. We will...

The lady working/opening was outside hanging t-shirts and told us "my light isn't on" I wasn't sure what she meant. She told us again, so my husband said " well the website said you opened at 9am" . Her reply was " well depends on when I get here, it takes me 20 minutes to hang all this junk". "I only work here, give me 5 more minutes". Needless to say we left. I would have loved to have gone inside and got the t-shirt I stopped in for. Oh well, someone else got...
