Alright so I was hesitant to try the food after reading some reviews, but I’m STILL thinking about the kabob sandwich & rice I had last weekend and am trying to find an excuse to go back 🤤
We placed an order for kabob, beef shawarma, and falafel sandwiches on lebanese bread with a side of yellow rice. Prices were good for the portion you’re getting as the portions are generous.
While waiting for the food, we went into the market and did some grocery shopping. The ladies at the front were nice, to-the-point transaction. I believe the market is owned by Iraqi-Chaldeans, so it was nice to see this representation. The market is small, so there was leas variety of products that I would have liked to see compared to other markets. They have all the main staples, you just may not find the specific brand you’re looking for.
As we were checking out, the food was packed & ready for pickup. Yes, it takes some time for the food to come out, but they’re making it right in front of you, as the orders come in. So, I recommend that you order first, shop around the market, and then return to pick up the food.
The food was FIRE 🔥 I’m Iraqi, so this was like comfort street food. The rice was a little salty but if you’re Iraqi… that’s how we love it 😂 i had been looking for a place that makes delicious yellow rice how I like it when the craving hits, and this is definitely the place for that.
The kebab, beef shawarma, and falafel were delicious. Each one was amazing. I am going to come back and try the chicken, will update this again when I do.
The only downside is that there is no seating area, so we ate in the car as we came from far and wanted to eat while the food was still hot.
Definitely recommend!! A true hidden gem for comfort middle...
Read moreSo here's the deal with this middle eastern grocery store / restaurant. The food smell will make your senses and taste buds super crazy and you'd be thinking about the most scrumptious and delicious middle eastern cuisine ..... now hold your horses. The taste of their food ain't that great unfortunately. We stumbled upon this during our search of finding some thing better than the Al-Bawadi (after three times consecutive disappointments) .... as we entered the building it smelled like heavenly food. I wish if the spice level and taste was better or above than other yummy middle eastern food joints (Oak Creek, Milwaukee, Ann arbor, Detroit, Livonia, Mississauga, Ottawa, Windsor, London, Montreal, LA, San Diego, Costa Mesa, Vegas, Jersey City, Philly, DFW, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, and NYC) I know every single one of me familia are crazy about delicious, ethnic cuisines and have traveled across North America in our quest of finding...

Gave their restaurant numerous chances of being decent. With Detroit Kabob House and Pita Inn being a minute away either side, this place has to try to be the best. Far from it.
You order food. No Tahini nor Hot Sauce included. By default, a middle eastern restaurant should always give these (which the good ones do).
I asked for hot sauce and tahini this time. Which they put. What was the hot sauce? Franks Hot pepper sauce! What a disgrace they can't even make their own. Pretty sad.
I order a side of hummus and not given any bread.
The tahini was super thick couldn't really use it much. So my food was pretty dry.
This place has got to learn from the success of places like pita inn and Detroit Kabob House or else they are in trouble.
Great middle eastern grocery store. They have everything you need.
They also serve manoush fresh out of their oven! Super...
