Super misleading. I literally never leave reviews good or bad. It was about 2pm when I arrived. All you can eat sushi and seafood/steakhouse are advertised. There were maybe 4 1/2 rolls sitting out for however long. Some of the rice was hard. The rest of the food was cold and not well kept, I had to ask the server and the manager if the chefs were going to put out other options….and at first her response was “we close soon.” It wasn’t until I insisted for more options to choose from since I’m paying about $20 for an unappetizing spread and options that were all left out and cold for some time. When they put out more rolls and sushi I attempted the sashimi. White tuna tasted gritty and mushy. I had to spit it out into my napkin. All I hope is that I don’t get sick. I asked for the bill, there was no care for the the customers at this location. I was just trying to treat myself out for a birthday lunch and thought I’d try something new. I cringe at myself for putting this out there, however this is warranted Working in the service industry for as long as I have, I try to be understanding. Not every restaurant meets our standards every time, and situations happen. There is a difference between situational bad service and all around bad service, bad food, and lack of concern for the customers that pay to eat at this establishment. Serving sushi and any food that might be considered a delicacy in terms of quality, should be cared for enough to uphold the integrity of the food and quality it should be cared for, was most disappointing to me. I wouldn’t recommend.

I’ve usually had great experiences in my foodie adventures, well that streak has ended after dining at Ginza. My girlfriend was in the mood for a buffet that features seafood, especially crab legs. We decided to give this place a try. With me I feel a business especially a restaurant needs to have a good impression on the exterior of there establishment, so things like decorations and signage, especially signage that lights up gives me an idea on how well run or not the business is. If there’s one thing that really irks me when a business have the lights off on there signage. I mean why even bother investing in the signage if you won’t even bother replacing the lights, or worse yet, turn on the switch to turn it on. It really tells me ahead of time what to expect in my dining experience. The establishment is your run of the mill buffet featuring sushi, clams, mussels, crab legs and dessert. The food was flavorless and bland except for the snails and the squid, those two just tasted “off” my intuition just told me to not eat the seafood. The food was definitely underwhelming, so much so it wasn’t even worth taking photos like I normally do. They do having a saving grace which was there service, the staff waiting on the tables was very attentive. Based on that I would’ve given them higher stars, but that evening and morning, my girlfriend did get a little ill. Nothing severe but enough for discomfort. Because of that, one star. I hope the establishment pays more attention to freshness of there seafood, and turn on the lights on your exterior sign.

A year ago I wrote: One of the best, if not the best Asian buffet in Chicago. They pride themselves of 300 high quality dishes prepared daily, including 50 kinds of sushi rolls, 50 cold dishes, over 40 different main and seafood entrees, a variety of soups, salad and fruit bar and an abundance of desserts. It's impossible to try them all. The best part is the reasonably affordable pricing. It satisfied all my cravings and I didn't leave hungry, that's for sure. Well here's an update on August 29, 2021 I've been dining here a lot, and I noticed a few changes. First the sushi sashimi station is not as it used to be. The sushi offerings is no longer as plentiful as it used to be, and the serving plates are no longer as full. The sashimi is as thin and tiny as it can be. The disheartening part is that this restaurant who prides itself as an "eat all you can" buffet has signs restricting the quantity you can consume, specially when it comes to lobster and sashimi. I don't mind the red shellfish and it is not what I come here for. I'm allergic to it. But the sashimi too? All other items I can get at Osaka Buffet in Joliet for half the price.

Went here with my husband for a late lunch earlier today. The food overall was less than okay. The seafood lacked flavor and seasoning. I typically prefer clean fresh taste if the salt and pepper is light but the items were clearly not fresh. I really wanted to give this place a good review because the price we paid was fairly reasonable but I guess you get what you pay for in this instance. Lobster was cold and dry and not to mention we had to wait 30mins before they were served. Then, there were only a few that was brought out at a time. Had my husband not mention it was out, I would have had to wait another 20 to 30mins for another batch. A lady had to serve you as well. They only had the claws by the way. Ugh. Also the butter they had was not heated or warmed at all. It was in a square metal bowl placed on a plate. their salt pepper shrimp/crab were not seasoned at all. It's as if they lightly floured it before deep frying them. They also tasted slightly off. The crab in particular was mushy....maybe as a result of them being overcooked. grilled shrimp was the same....no seasoning and not fresh. bok choy was doused in clear gravy with garlic....at least it wasn't overcooked but it was oily the pike mackerel was cold and fishy tasting mixed crab with cheese on a shell only contained imitation crab that's been chopped up in small pieces the garden salad and cheese mussels were okay but I'm not sure why I only ate a couple the kimchi was okay too snow crab legs were okay but they were small and the tray was always almost empty not because people were getting them but it's because only a few are served at a time

I have a few more feedback but honestly the bottom line is that I would not recommend this place. My husband and I got sick from the food. This was the only food we ate before we got sick. I actually had to lay down when I got home and threw up when I finally got up. My husband felt sick as well and he only ate the New York sirloin, chicken wings and fried rice. He's allergic to shellfish.

I usually go for $50+ buffets but this was the only one in the area after we dropped off our daughter at Mystic Waters. So disappointed in this place. The food was most likely not prepared with sanitary conditions in mind. Just thinking back is making me feel sick so I have...

Most of the food was slightly old and didn't taste that great. They use way too much oil and this weighs down the food. Most of the sushi was kind of new but the technique used to make them seem amateur. Lobster tasted funny so I just couldn't eat more of it. It seems to be low grade lobster with preservatives (this same funny taste was in the fish as well) This is the first time I've eaten lobster where there isn't much flavor, so it's is weird. On the website it says they have lobster all day on the weekends. You have to stand in line when they make small batches and it is first come first served until it is gone, so in this sense, it is hardly close to what it means.

Warning: You can ruin all of your clothes here and permanently contaminate all of your family's laundry with slippery silicone. It is because big bottles of hand sanitizer with "moisturizers" are left everywhere here. The "moisturizers" are supposed to make the hands feel "soft" but actually it is nano-sized plasticized oily silicone. The booth seats are completely covered in this substance top to bottom. Upon leaving this place, your bottoms and back will be extra extra slippery from this residue. When you launder your slippery clothes along with other clothes, the entire batch will come out slippery and at this point you will have realized this silicone just ruined all of your clothes, other laundry, and livelihood. The more you wash, the more it spreads to other clothes. The proof (and I challenge ANYONE who says otherwise) just rub your fingers together and you will see that they remain slippery after handling your "clean" clothes. This phenomenon doesn't occur only here of course, just letting you know that this is one out of many places where these problematic...

I wish i could give negative stars.

The experience started with a rude hostess who rolled her eyes when asked if we could sit at a table and a not booth, since we had 2 elderly people in our party and the chairs are more comfortable for them. The restaurant was not busy at all, so the request wasn't that complicated.

We asked our server to bring 6 wine glasses (we brought our own wine). He brought 6 shot glasses. It took him 2 attempts after that to bring us wine glasses.

Later on, we asked for a shot of vodka. He asked what kind, and we told him what kind. He came back later with an empty shot glass. Ok....another misunderstanding, fine. We asked again, and said we needed the vodka from their bar, we didn't bring our own. He said ok. He came back with a whiskey glass, again empty. We then asked another server, and about 15 minutes later, we had a glass with actual vodka in it. Again, the restaurant was not busy.

There really isn't a point in mentioning the food, as about 70% of it was terrible/inedible. The shrimp tasted like it was cooked in dirty water and smelled even worse. The only way i can explain the smell, is to compare it to a garbage disposal that has rotting food in it.

When askes to speak to the manager, our waiter said "ok" and handed us the bill. We waited about 10 minutes and asked again. Our waiter didnt remember to bring the manager over, until another server reminded him.

The manager, Amy, listened to what we said, did not offer any sort of explanation or an apology.

I can say with utmost certainty, this was the worst dining experience I've ever had, and we will...
