Oh boy. Where do I start. Ate here tonight with my family. We were excited to have another Mexican option in the neighborhood. The atmosphere is awesome. Modern vibes with great decor.
Our waiter was very energetic and personable. However, the service in general was not good with virtually every part of our meal having an issue. Asked for chip refills numerous times without responsiveness from the staff. Then they didn't bring more salsa when they finally did bring the chips. Forgotten drinks at the table that took a long time from the bar with no followup from the staff. The table was full of plates from our appetizers that never got bussed and made for a very awkward dining experience. I noticed that the drink I had was actually in a broken glass. Instead of making a new one they just poured the old drink into a new glass (people may disagree with me on whether or not they find this problematic and that's fair enough).
We also identified that we had a gluten allergy at the table. The waiter politely thanked us for informing them so that they could make sure we get corn tortillas. Flour tortillas show up with the appetizers.
I had enchiladas Verde which was actually pretty good. Portion sizes are average and I think the prices are pretty high for what you get especially with the appetizers. The serving size of the Chori Queso is only for 2 people (and that's stretching it). Food presentation was a highlight.
Drinks are average in terms of taste and quality. Overall, the prices do seem high for what you get. They add a 3% service charge to your bill which seems to be more and more common these days. Honestly, if we didn't have so many service issues during the meal, I don't think I'd even be leaving a review. I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt and say they are just working out the kinks In a new restaurant. I will probably give this a second try down the line and would happily update my review if the experience is better next time. But it was a pretty rough go of it tonight which is tough to swallow as a customer who paid 250$. There are glimmers of hope here but lots of work to...
Read moreAlways excited to try a new restaurant. Average rating but I can and want to see them succeed... It was opening week and walked in around 8pm (Friday). Upon entry, noticed the vibrant colors, decors, and modern feel. Lots of diners and seemed like a very busy spot. Decided to sit at 1 of 2 bar areas, on the lounge-side, facing Northwest Hwy, where there was only a couple seated. There were a couple of bartenders highly occupied making drinks left and right and we were promptly greeted with silverware, glasses of water, and a few minutes later, a menu. Had a nice amount of time to review the menu - food and drinks. Another staff member noticed we weren't being helped for a bit and we were able to get our drinks (Classic Margarita and another type of Marg). First and foremost, chips and salsa should be standard. Some may disagree, but that's just my opinion. It was on the menu for $4 and unclear if it was unlimited or not. Ordered this anyway to see if there was anything special and they brought us chips and fresh guac instead (pictured here) and didn't charge us extra. Most likely because we waited a good 15min. I must say, the chips were pretty good and homemade, made-to-order. We witnessed a dine-and-dasher, sadly and unfortunately, most likely because the service was slow. We waited additional time which seemed like another 15-25min for our actual food. Picture here: Picaditas (flight of 3 mini sopes - chicken, steak, chorizo), and Doblada de Steak (reminiscent of Taco Bell Crunchwrap but better). Items can be a bit overpriced, including a specific percentage added for service. Overall, I think this place is a nice new addition to the area. I would probably visit again with hopes of a change in...
