I've been going to them for years for simple wash and go's for the past 2years I've been out the state. I returned home in the fall of 2018 and came for a wash and straighten. I informed the girl and instructor that my plan was to dread my hair and thats why i chose not to do any treatments. To begin The girl doing my hair didn't know what she was doing, my hair ia full and thick, she processed to wash amd blow dry my hair. She didn't even do that right her instructor continuesly watched over her and even blowdried half of my head correctly. After blowdrying you could tell the difference. It was soon closing time so all hands on deck, she had two other students help straighten my hair only two used the heat protection spray while straightening my hair. The Spanish girl keep saying "you don't have to spray just go over the hair repeatedly and look how it falls" literally it was bone straight but it was only in the corner that she'd done the rest of my hair had a sort of puff still. We all talked about my ends bring clipped but due to the fact that i was dreading my hair it was unnecessary. So I left and attended an event which i wanted to wear my hair down but it looked stupid bone straight in the front corner and puffy everywhere else. In the beginning of October I kept my hair braided and in protective styles and each time i washed my hair that one side of my hair would not curl, it would remain straight. I got a wash and go done and my hair didn't take and was told i have bad heat damage which i knew but the second opinion confirmed. From that day 10/25 I had my hair in crochet dreads to get a feel of myself with the dreads i wanted i took them out the end of December and still as i took my hair out that front portion was straight !! It was bad ! I had done 2 treatments and never returned, I was told to call the school. Inform them of what's happened you have it time and its not i needed to see what they were going to do because of course its at your own risk but they need to know what happened to my hair ! I called in and got nothing but attitude & I don't appreciate it at alll because Ive come for years and recommended many friends and family here & for this to happen I don't feel comfortable sending...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy personal experience at Empire beauty school, i just graduated & i have a few comments to make. The director(Mrs.Daigel), Mrs.Kristine & Ms.Krista do not care for the students the same way Mrs.M, Mrs. Katell, Mrs. Lisa, Mrs.S & the school Rep Jackie care about the students. I personally donāt feel like this school is worth even paying $5000 because everything i learned i learned off my peers & Youtube. It is terrible to be paying so much for a school & transportation, & graduate leaving feeling like i havenāt learned a thing from the school. The thought of $10,000 for this school honestly blows me every time i think about it because it is honestly not worth it. The school has no structure, no organization, the staff does not care to listen to the complaints & comments the students make during student meetings which are held to help THE STAFF have a better understanding & better organization to make the school function & work as a whole. The staff i named up above seem to only care about the money & the way they are represented to the company. The school has no sense of security, no cameras & the school has had multiple issues with students stealing from each other and from the company. THERE IS FAVORITISM IN THIS SCHOOL. If Mrs.Daigel likes you she will over look rules that she will apply to others, sheāll allow certain things to some that she will not allow to others. The rules in this school are inconsistent and are not enforced as they should be. Mrs.Krista has been under the influence of alcohol multiple times on the job and i have seen her getting alcohol delivered to the school while on the job. During Saturday classes she doesnāt pay any attention to the students she shuts the door & just sits there watching Netflix & thats if she even makes it in. There have been moments she comes in hours late while the students are sitting there waiting for her. Although im very happy i achieved my goal of achieving my licensure, im very disappointed that i had to go through the āEmpire experienceā as listed above. For a school that is so well known and well represented it really dropped the ball and...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreFor those men trying to join this school for cosmetology Iād say go to a different school. Iāve been a victim which I also have videos as well as photos and recordings of their discrimination, racial profiling, disrespect etc. I brought it to the director of the school and even then she stated that itās a feminist world. As a man if we talked the same way these young girls talked in class and verbally assaulted me to the point they was in my face about religion and politics and other personal things etc. we would be behind bars. I was fairly attack by these young girl students and i brought it to the director and nothing was done until I called corporate. Did things get resolved not really turns out I ended getting a transfer to a menās barborshop. So for those men trying to join this school donāt waste your time go to a different cosmotology school. For those who want evidence on videos and recordings inbox me. Itās sad that men get treated the way they do in this day and age and field at that . The teacher really didnāt do teaching I mean she even stated that the school is just to pass the state board test they just teach you basics but not really. The teacher was careless just read the book and gave us a sheet of paper. This was the worst experience...
