Excellent ramen shop very close to malden center. Ideal for a quick meal after a long work day. Only bar seating inside, which in my opinion is positive. Very fast service and nice employees.

I had the shoyu ramen with an added soft boiled egg.

Firstly, great presentation, with nice balance from the center to the edges of the bowl. Color contrasts from the dark broth to bright white egg was great.

The broth was thick and cloudy, with nice aroma from katsuo. They told me the broth is made of 5 different kinds of fish bones and chicken bones. You get that with the sweet, deep flavor and nice fish (but not fishy) aroma. There's also the nice umami from soy sauce and seaweed that hold the dish up and cuts through the rich broth.

The toppings were also great. The chashu was really large and thin sliced, with a flavor that went all the way through the meat. The sprouts, leeks, and scallions added a nice crisp texture and fresh taste. The egg was surprising in a good way. I was expecting a marinated egg but got a nice poached egg with a solidified but soft and creamy yolk inside. I highly recommend getting the egg, because it adds another layer of creaminess to the broth.

The noodles were spot on for my taste. Soft and chewy, with the standard flavor.

The ramen is $15 (including tax) and the egg was an extra $2. Price wise it's not the cheapest meal around, but in my opinion definitely...

If you are a craving for a hearty bowl of ramen that comforts your soul, this is the place to go! I did not have that many expectations, but I was excited to try this spot, especially since it was down the street of where I live. Upon arrival, the place was not crowded, but that is because it is a come-and-go type of ramen shop. Customers are either dining in quickly or ordering take out. We ordered at the counter and the ramen came shortly after. I ordered the miso ramen (my go-to) and my friend ordered the shoyu ramen. The menu is not extensive - it is simple and gets straight to the point. They charge extra for egg and more charsiu. I don't eat egg with my ramen, but after eating their charsiu, I will consider ordering extra. The bowl of miso ramen comes with diced onions, scallions, bamboo shoots, and bean sprouts as garnishes and three big slices of charsiu. The broth itself was SO rich in flavor, but not in an overwhelming way. The ramen noodles were cooked perfectly and the charsiu was so juicy and flavorful. Nothing overwhelmed each other and I honestly thought the portion was great for $12. I will be back (probably more often than I should). There is limited street parking, but there is also a public parking garage across the street where they charge $3 an hour (cash only), which is plenty of time unless this shop is crowded. This shop...

SO happy to have fast, fresh, nourishing, tasty Asian comfort food right here in the West End. My husband and I tried their ramen tonight, and we will definitely be back. (He used to be a prep cook at a high-end Japanese restaurant, and is very fussy about Japanese food. If he loves it, you know it's good.)

Their menu is fairly limited, but I like the fact that they have decided to only do a few things, and do them well. Everything was very fresh, tasty, and perfectly cooked. The kitchen and small counter dining area were sparkling clean, and the staff and chef are very friendly and obviously take pride in their product and establishment.

I don't understand a few of the reviews that I saw that were complaining about the portion size. My husband and I both have big appetites, and we both found our bowls of ramen to be incredibly satisfying. I would rather have a reasonable portion of extremely well-made ramen, than to stuff myself with an oversized bowl of mediocre ramen.

Definitely spend the extra $2 and add the soft-cooked egg to your soup. The yolk mixes with the broth and makes it extra...
