I've had a ring that belonged to my great grandfather for quite some time. Nothing too special, just a silver band with a square black onyx stone on the top. Well, the stone on the top has been loose since before it was given to me. I had been wanting to get it fixed up to wear so I wouldn't risk losing the stone, and there is a long, deep groove going down both sides of the band that I was hoping to put my birthstone on each side. I was recommended to this establishment by a family member. I took the ring down, explained to them what I was hoping to get done, and was told that wouldn't be a problem, and that it would take about a week to a week and a half. No biggie I thought. During this time I had to call several times just to get an update. Not that I was in a rush, but I was told a week and a half, and when that times goes by without any word, you start to think that maybe something is wrong. I was told that this piece was giving the jeweler a lot of trouble, and that they had to walk away from it several times. After being informed of this, I asked if what I was wanting to be done COULD in fact be done, and I was given a rather confident yes. OK, cool. Just over a month later, I get the call that my great grandfather's ring was complete! I go to pick it up and the fist thing said to me was "It's not perfect". I took a good look at the ring, and after, had a very difficult time not saying anything. The craftmanship, detail, and care of my great grandfather's ring is shotty at best. I am not the type of person that likes to make a scene, so I paid, and took my ring back. Immediately, I went to the family member that recommended me to show them the work that was done. All she could tell me was that she was so sorry she recommended them. I guess I will be taking my ring somewhere else to see if it can be saved. Oh, and one of the stones they put in on the side is...
Read moreVery disappointing customer relations. My siblings and I presented Charlie a modest coin collection we inherited from our late parents. We requested a modest purchase price after seeking consult and gathering some independent research. Charlie's only interest was in what any previous appraisers had quoted us and why. The effort to inspect our coins and offer a price on his own knowledge and experience was clearly too much for him. We needed to honor this collection by getting multiple opinions and getting the best possible price. Charlie could not see extending any effort if we may ultimately sell to someone else. Indeed, we did sell to someone else. After his disrespectful attitude 3 minutes into the conversation, we would not have given him business regardless of what price he offered. He put forth NO EFFORT and was indeed insulting. We ended up selling our collection to another local buyer who gave us a great price and...
Read moreThis is a great place. My husband got my engagement ring here, and its a vintage style I have never seen anothet like it. It appraised for more than my husband paid which made us happy! I had it dipped closer to my house (not at sav mor) and it came back with a diamond missing. A local jeweler quoted me $75 and Kay said $50 for the repair. Sav more quoted me $35 and it came back dipped so it looks great. I'm really happy with them (enough to go online and write a review!) This is a great local place to buy jewelry, especially if you want a piece that is original vs a...
