I am extremely disappointed with the Scheels in Mankato. In our area, there are very few options for buying new golf equipment and clubs. A year ago, I purchased both a PING hybrid and fairway wood from this Scheels store. Both PING clubs ended up having the finish flake off on the club within one year of purchase. PING instructed me to drop off my clubs at the Scheels for send in and repair since, 1) I purchased the clubs here and 2) they are an authorized PING dealer that is closest to my location. Scheels unfortunately wanted nothing to do with assisting me. Scheels ultimately sent in my clubs and after they had been away for almost two months, I still had not received any updates on the status of the repairs. I contacted PING directly and was informed that my clubs were sent back to the store 2.5 weeks prior. I reached out to Scheels on three sepearte occasions and each time I was told that they weren't sure the status of my clubs, but that they would follow up. I never received any follow up and my clubs sat somewhere within their facility. Every time I discussed the situation about the repairs, I was told, "we don't like being the middleman". .. It's ironic because they had no problem serving as the middleman for the sale of the clubs.
Learn from my mistake. Either order directly through the manufacture or purchase your clubs in the cities from a true golf store. Scheels did contact us, upgraded the treadmill, which we did not expect or ask for, but appreciate it and delivered it for free. Thank you for taking responsibility and righting the wrong.
We have been a customer for numerous years and we have always had good service until recently.
We came in and purchased a treadmill, we had two younger gentlemen helping us who were very helpful. Because the treadmill we wanted was not in stock, we had to go down and order it. We used our Scheels credit card to pay for it, were told it would be a few days before it would be delivered to the store since it was coming from another store.
Fast forward a week, still no call saying it had arrived so we called the store. The young man I talked to could not find the order, I asked for a manager, she couldn’t find it either. She said she would need to call us back the next day so she could talk to someone else. Wade called today and talked to my husband, was rude, talked over my husband and just made excuses. Instead of making excuses, admit you made a mistake and didn’t order it, apologize and get it here. All Wade was wondering is if we wanted to cancel our order…. Cancel it, we already paid for it!

Read moreSo I wish I could give this place 6 stars! Ever since Covid hit and everything changed, I kept feeling unwelcome in most other businesses. The employees are always watching you and at one place, I was told I could not stand with my mother at the checkout counter. It leaves me feeling frustrated and guilty for even wanting to go out shopping. My mother and I visited Scheels today because we both recalled very positive experiences recently (and always do even without a pandemic). To our pleasant surprise, the fitting rooms were open but obviously well tended to keep clean. Every other place I have been to had closed their fitting rooms. I've never been so happy to be able to try something on in store. The staff were (as they always have been) friendly, welcoming, and helpful. We felt welcome and wanted. These little things meant so much to us. We both filled up our shopping baskets, signed up for the Scheels visa, and left feeling exponentially better than when we came in. Scheels will definitely be a big part of my retail therapy from now on and especially during this difficult time.
