I had an incredibly disappointing experience at this A&W. My wife and I visited with her elderly parents (80 and 70 years old), our 11-month-old baby, and our 13-year-old child, expecting a pleasant meal after spending $46.17 on food. Instead, we were met with appalling customer service that completely ruined our visit.
When I asked for a simple glass of water, I was denied. The water filling station was available for customer use, yet the staff refused to give me a glass because they claimed to be out of water cups. Fine, I thought, but when I asked if I could use one of the many pop glasses available, I was bluntly told no because "those are for pop only." Seriously?
It's beyond ridiculous that after spending nearly $50, I couldn't get a glass of water for myself or my elderly in-laws. The manager showed absolutely no regard for basic customer care or common sense. It seems this location is more interested in rigidly enforcing senseless rules than in ensuring a positive experience for paying customers.
I would strongly recommend avoiding this place unless you're okay with being treated poorly and denied basic decency. A&W, you should be ashamed of the way this...
Read moreI am hoping this was a fluke. When I eat at A&W, I order the same thing. A burger with cheese curds and a chili cheese dog. The burger tasted very odd this trip and the chili cheese dog had the worst cheese on it. I had to scrape off the cheese in order to finish it. My cheese curds were soaked in grease causing the flavor to be lost. I understand they are deep fried but they were terrible this time. The root beer still tasted how it should causing this to be a 2 star over a 1 star review. I will try it again on a later date to see if it was just a bad day for them before I totally boycott the new Mankato location. The Faribault location is what all A&W resturants need to strive to achieve. I feel that the Mankato location lacks what really makes A&W stand out from the rest... a great experience. With no frozen mugs, and the same ol thing you see at every other fast food joint, why bother fighting the mall crowds to get a bite to eat? I say for the true A&W experience, drive the 45 minutes. You will...
Read moreFirst off, we weren't greeted in the slightest. We walked up to the register and neither front employee welcomed us or said a word to us. Just stared at us, waiting for us to order. So odd. Secondly, the floor was sticky. The entire floor was sticky. Picking a table was hard because most of them looked dirty. There were crumbs and wrappers on several tables, and the long "community booth" had so many straw wrappers in the crack... All visible, so I'm not sure why this place isn't visibly clean. The chairs were sticky, too. Just gross. The food was good, but I'm scared to find out how dirty the kitchen is if the dining room is that filthy. I know most fast food places are getting bad, but this was surprisingly bad. I won't...
