Read moreIf you've not shopped at Aldi before, you're in for a surprise. They tackle problems in new ways. One practice is you must insert a quarter coin to unlock a shopping cart. You get this coin back when you return the cart to the cart station. There are no shopping carts abandoned in the parking lot. No employees are collecting empty carts. This is one way Aldi saves money. Another practice is employees multitask. The same employee will restock shelves and handle the checkout counters. This reduces the number of employees required to manage a store. This is another way Aldi saves money. There’s no self-checkout. This eliminates losses due to customer theft. Yet another way Aldi saves money. The checkout is fast because there’s no bagging. You do your bagging after checkout. This is with your bags. Aldi’s doesn’t supply you with free bags. Even the people behind me thought that was absurd. But I had To carry my groceries to my car carefully and struggled because she refused to let me use a cart. Good customer service would be for her to get up and get one herself if she was so concerned with the people behind me. But SNATCHING a cart from my hands was absolutely demeaning and rude. She seemed very upset that I guess her manager asked her to jump in and help scan groceries. I will be contacting corporate about this matter to make sure they are aware of how rude and disrespectful this cashier was. Because something needs to be done. NOT...
