We recently dined at Mister O1 Extraordinary Pizza in Mansfield, TX, and it was an unforgettable experience! This place deserves every bit of its stellar reputation! From the moment we walked in, the warm, trendy atmosphere set the stage for a fantastic meal, but it was the exceptional service and award-winning pizza that truly stole the show. Our server, Cameron, was an absolute gem. His enthusiasm for the menu was infectious, and he guided us through our choices with genuine care and expertise, ensuring that every detail was perfect. Cameron’s attentiveness and friendly demeanor made us feel like Mother’s Day VIPs, checking in just enough to keep things seamless without ever being intrusive. He even recommended pairing our pizzas with their signature spicy olive oil, which elevated the flavors to another level. This passion for hospitality is exactly what makes dining here so special. The pizzas themselves were nothing short of extraordinary, living up to the hype of Chef Renato Viola’s award-winning legacy. We ordered the Caleb Martin, Meat Lovers 2.0, and a Burrata appetizer, and each was a masterpiece. The Caleb Martin was truly special, with spicy salami, mozzarella, honey, and truffle seasoning, it was a bold flavor explosion—sweet, spicy, and savory all in perfect harmony. The Meat Lovers 2.0 was a carnivore’s dream, loaded with Jimmy’s Italian sausage, pepperoni, ham, and bacon, all balanced by a thin, crispy crust that never felt heavy. The Burrata appetizer, served with arugula, fresh tomatoes, and focaccia bread, was creamy, fresh, and drizzled with a balsamic glaze that made every bite divine (add some prosciutto to elevate the dish even further). What set this meal apart was a visit from the general manager, James, who stopped by our table to share the story behind their ingredients. He explained how Mister O1 sources the finest, freshest ingredients, many imported from Italy, and highlighted the care they take with their cheeses—particularly the burrata and stracciatella, which are unlike anything I’ve tasted elsewhere. His passion for quality was evident, and it was clear that every dish is crafted with precision and pride. James even shared how their 72-hour dough fermentation process creates that light, airy crust we loved, making us appreciate the artistry behind each bite. Mister O1 in Mansfield is a must-visit for pizza lovers. The combination of Cameron’s outstanding service, James’ warm leadership, and pizzas that deserve every award they’ve earned makes this place a cut above. Whether you’re craving bold flavors like the Caleb Martin or classic indulgence like the Meat Lovers, you’re in for a treat. Don’t skip the burrata, and ask for Cameron—you won’t be disappointed! We’re already counting down to...
Read moreThis pizza spot offers tasty pizzas, a fun vibe, and has an interesting story.
On their website (and in-store) you can read that this restaurant gets its name from "Chef Renato Viola came to settle in Miami Beach under the O1 Visa category, reserved for those with 'Extraordinary Artistic Ability' "
While their traditional wood-fire pizzas are delicious, they are known for their star pizzas. There's a variety of both to choose from. The star pizzas come in a unique star shape and have ricotta stuffed crust
This place was certainly bumping, as it took 25+min to get seated. It also took a long time to get our food especially considering how fast wood fired pizzas cook.
It could have been the fact that they were busy or perhaps understaffed, but the service was lacking. Everyone seemed focused on and no one was particularly friendly or pleasant. Well, I take that back, there was a server (not ours) who brought us our food, took our plates away and thanked us for dining. This was a little frustrating as our actual server never checked in on us during our meal. I wanted to order another drink, but I didn't have the opportunity to order one. Also, when I was handed my check (after paying) no words were exchanged... "no thank you," "no have a good night"... nothing. Again, the saving grace was that other pleasant server who cared to say something as we were walking out.
The interior is modern, clean, and welcoming. Their music selection is slightly outdated (old school 50-60s selection), and maybe it's because we were there so long waiting on our table and then food, but we heard some of the same songs
One thing I did like is that for to-go orders the open the box for the person to ensure that the order is correct. This might let some heat out, but it assures the patron that they are leaving with the correct order.
Some tips: Order one of their specialty star pizzas. If you have a big group maybe order a couple pizzas, and get the Caesar salad. This salad comes in a big bowl to be shared family-style. There are also a variety of in-store olive oils for you to try or purchase. They places a spicy olive oil on our table and it gave the pizzas a nice kick. If you have a birthday there you can get a Nutella pizza with a candle placed in the center.. also all the staff will sing happy birthday and shake utensils (even in the back of the restaurant). It was a nice touch
Again, this spot has a fun vibe, and has great food. They might want to work slightly on their service, but it could have been a one-off. Regardless, it's still worth checking...
Read moreThe day after Thanksgiving my husband and I, like everyone else, wanted something besides leftovers. Time to try the new pizza place!
It was busy and crowded and loud. Of course there was a wait (not unexpected). They use a texting system to let you know your table is ready. We liked that because we could sit comfortably in our car.
When we got seated it took a couple minutes for our server to approach. Jonathan was an absolute delight. He was funny, attentive, and charming. He brought us a carafe of water while we decided. When I ordered the Coffee Paolo he said asked me to let him know what I thought because nobody ever orders that. What can I say I like to try all the weird stuff!
The food was very good. The pizzas are made in a wood fired oven and have a thin, crispy crust. My husband got the Star Carlos. The Star pizzas have these interesting folds on the crust that hold a dollop of cheese or meat. You really have to see them! My Coffee Paolo was the strangest combo I’ve ever had on a pizza - forget pineapple - think Gorgonzola cheese, honey, Calabrian spicy salami and espresso. Yes, I said espresso. There’s coffee on the pizza! I liked it. My only complaint is that the taste of the Gorgonzola overpowered everything else. I didn’t get much coffee or honey flavor and only a little of the spice from the salami. I did a little dipping in spicy olive oil which made it even better. We took a dessert calzone made with Nutella and bananas home and it was also delicious.
We have plans to return. There is so much more on the menu we’d like to try. I nearly got whiplash checking out everything coming out of the kitchen. The calzones are huge and look amazing. There’s a whole section of salads, also huge, served in what looks like a mixing bowl. And they even have more “normal” pizzas. So something for every palate. We need more unique restaurants...
