More money, I'v discovered unlike Dollar General, whom has same thing's and prices ,there is a difference, outside of management, (those who would impatiently wait on me or not understand my English very well so argue, a price.. which I'm not into that so I would just let it go,.. it says lowered price there, but you get a coupon loaded and price off the original, not what they had showing online with a coupon. .. sale?) I say that to show the differences of " Family Dollar , the price comes off that lowered price, things were easier as well to find... and I'm happy to say the customer service Great! which is why I changed shopping from " Dollar Gen". Now in Manteo, at the mall by Food A Rama' ..I ask and they answered all my questions were patient, and when a coupon wouldn't load , just 1,and they went the extra mile to help me and with no attitude. . Thats the sign of good service & training. . Also to the manager in Manteo a Big" shoutout" of ..thank you, she really did Above and Beyond. . And to a customer on a fixed income and dealing with illness that means more than they may know, they have a loyal customer in this person and I'm spreading the word as well.. thank you again to all who have not once but several times been so helpful to me. Read more9/29/20 Went back to Family Dollar today out of desperation after 2 years. I was very pleasantly surprised to find a nice young man who stopped stocking shelves to help me. While they did not have what I was looking for, it wasn't for lack of trying. When he saw I was having trouble with my mask, he went and got me a new one. The clerk at the front was pleasant, professional and efficient. I will definitely be going back! And if I ever get my own business, I am stealing Wyatt! Thank you Wyatt for not only changing my opinion of Family Dollar, but making my day!......TWO YEARS AGO: The clerk and the two other employees were so busy arguing about to whom they should donate the out of date candy that the vendor had just pulled from the shelf, that they left us standing in line waiting to check out. The line continued to grow until I told the woman in front of me that I needed to get to work. She had been on her phone trying to contact someone to donate the candy to as well. She finally moved up to the register and I was able to get checked out. I left home a half hour early just to make this stop and it took most of that time to pick up 2 items and get out of there. The last time I was there, a different clerk carried on a lengthy conversation with the person in front of me,, again nearly making me late for work. No professionalism here. I have been dealing with Family Dollar for 17 years but recently the service has really gone downhill! I will deal at Dollar General...
Read moreDefinitely isn't handicap friendly unfortunately - eveyone is friendly though except the manager Josie - I brought it 2 her attention that is was hard 2 get around a my elderly mother & her walker - couldn't even get down some aisles because of the loads of boxes & carts all over that we kept running into because there wasn't room. The manager Josie rolled her eyes & said she couldn't help it because they were short staffed & they couldn't keep staff.
