The Downeast Rover — Attraction in North Carolina

Although we did not get to take our sail with these fine folks, I need to say how professional and accommodating they were. Two times we made reservations to join them and two times something came up that caused us to cancel, the latest one was less than a day before our scheduled trip. In that one, we suffered a communication issue and the folks there did not receive our cancellation notice when we thought they did. That cause some concern and problems on the day of the sail. We reached them belatedly and explained our situation. Despite what we know was a hassle for the staff, Kim and others at Rover were super polite, understanding and made us feel better about a situation that we caused them to have. We took the sailboat excursion of a lifetime! The crew was very friendly, charming and professional. First Mate "Scott" regaled us with tall tales, jokes and interesting, historical facts. The sailing was magical. "Scuppers" the sailor dog let us know when dolphins were approaching the sailboat. The dolphins followed us so closely we could almost reach out and touch them. The weather was beautiful, the waters calm, the entire experience was pure delight! I was worried about getting seasick but never happened. They provided me with a life vest because I was worried about being tossed overboard. Haha. That also never happened. Whatever your concerns, this crew will accommodate you and put your mind at ease. The Captin and first mate Billy are very awesome down to earth people . The sail boat is very nice, the cruise was very beautiful. We met very sweet people while on the boat and had some wonderful conversations with Billy and others. I suggest you bring a bottle of wine or a case of beer, it is a wonderful place to relax and watch the sunset. My wife and I are celebrating our honeymoon and this was the perfect way to celebrate and relax. We will be customers from now on and look forward to future sails .
