Was there on a rainy fall day. Really a lot of fun even then, plenty of shopping, plenty of nooks and crannies to explore. Obviously not much happening in the marina itself (well, we did see 2 weddings and one of the local shopkeepers said there are WAY more in the summer) but there were plenty of walkers, joggers, shoppers, bikes, and everyone open for business and friendly. The waterfront has a sort of 2-story open mall as well as the nautical things (like lighthouse and such). The mall has bunch of very nice shops in it, plenty to see and covered walkways. Right at the edge there's a bridge (foot or car) connection to the Roanoke Island Festival Park (where we saw ANOTHER wedding) and it's a short hop to the Elizabethan Gardens (a must see on Roanoke Island in almost any season). Take a break from the beach and go check out Manteo....
