Update, 2/2022.. I love the convenience of online shopping and picking up, even better to have an advance account which I shop directly from with the Manteo, NC Advance shop being my local pickup store..I have saved and earned over the years and its a great initiative to get what you need when you know you're saving as well...my last visit was ordered, I applied my $10 dollar reward making it under $10 bucks for $30 spent, and it was fast, before I had drove the 10 minutes to get there it was ready and even brought out to me, you can do that or go inside to get your purchase.. the people working their are informative on the items,, and friendly, thank for keeping up the great service.. **1/2019"'Thank thank you,thank you... Advance Auto not only helped a situation where my debit card was not working, "but Tom, in customer service in the Manteo store" was so helpful, kept the sale price what it was, did NOT.. as some places have, put my purchase away immediately giving me time to work it out. (in case I had to wait til the next day,to fix my bank issue) thankfully it was quickly resolved. Also when I called the other store, closer to my broke down of vehicle.. this being the store in Kill Devil Hills, because they said it wasn't there issue, that they didn't need to help since I was attempting to pay online.. they unlike the Manteo store did not offer any help, or solution.. the website showed they had the part I needed, not a cheap purchase, but they offered no advise or help.. as a local who shops both stores it was disappointing but thankfully the Manteo store not only helped my situation ( no fault of my own, it was the website).. but allowed my discount to be used, by overriding in store when I arrived helping a stressful issue with the breakdown of our vehicle. Thank you for the Awesome Customer Service, the patience, the kindness, and above all not blowing me off but helping to find a situation to assist me in my purchase. Read moreLet me start off by saying I've been to this location over 20 times with no issues and great service. But that all changed this morning when I went to get parts/oil to change the oil on my truck. Grabbed everything I needed and headed to checkout. There's no catalog to look up your own filter so I informed the cashier(wouldn't dare call this man a parts expert) that I needed a filter and gave him my make/model/engine. He started off by saying there was no filter special price with oil I selected. I responded by saying "that's fine, I've used it for years and don't use synthetic in my truck. It doesn't call for synthetic." He responded by saying "yea, why would you want to use good oil in your vehicle" and proceeded to walk away and get my filter. As he walked away, I was at a loss of words because of what was just said to me. He proceeded to come back and inform me that his computer was telling him that I chose the wrong weight oil for my truck. I told him "I've used 10w30 in my last 2 trucks with no issues for years and was informed by someone in the motor oil industry that for the area we live, the weight is fine." He replied "well he lied to you." On the verge of putting everything back and walking out, I bit my tongue and didn't say another word to him, paid and left. Moral of the story, I don't need a "parts counter warrior" degrading me for the selections I made. They lost a customer for life in me and anyone I tell about the experience. I'll just take my business down the road to napa. I would like to say thank you to the store associate for narrowing down my part store...
Read moreSo, we almost always have great customer service from the Manteo Advance Auto. They are usually helpful and knowledgeable. Today was a terrible experience. I needed to return a small item that didn’t work in my car. I had the receipt. Two employees were at their registers. An older gentleman walked out of the stockroom by me and didn’t say anything. A young woman was talking on the phone to a customer. A man was working on something at the counter. Neither one greeted me or asked if I needed help. The man was obviously frustrated and ill tempered about something. After a minute, he looked up and asked what I wanted. I told him about the return and gave him the receipt. He kept looking at the receipt and I asked him if he needed my credit card. He didn’t answer my question, but angrily said that he needed glasses.(I guess to read the receipt) Then he answered the phone and began taking an order without even saying anything to me or telling the person on the phone that he was in the middle of a transaction with a customer in the store. I had to wait a few minutes for him to finish the phone order. He finally gave me cash for the refund, slipped a paper in front of me and told me to sign where it said customer. I did and left.
