Kitchen Table — Local services in Maplewood

We hosted a party here for our 3 year old.

Responsiveness - It was hard to get in touch with Kitchen Table when I was first inquiring. I left messages and received no call back. Even leading up to the event, they weren't easy to get a hold of and I had to schedule calls sometimes 2 - 3 days in advance or simply email my questions over.

The Space - It is located on the 2nd Floor of a small building (I didn't see an elevator). For those of you looking to host a birthday party, the entrance isn't very well maintained, however the Kitchen Table space itself is large, clean and well lit.

The Birthday Party Experience - Chef Lila plans to actually cook with the children which is really nice. She is well-prepared and hands on. The children had a GREAT time actually baking their cupcakes and decorating them (not just watching the adults). She also got little boxes to put their cupcakes in, as an add-on to our party favor totes.

The Parent Experience - This was challenging as I was bringing in a professional party planner to help with the decor etc. and it was hard to coordinate the details with Chef Lila. She went back and forth about when I could access the space and wasn't very flexible about additional time before or after. Even during the event, when we tried to ask questions, she wasn't very friendly...

What a fantastic cooking class we got to take part in last night! It's been a very long time since I've tried to learn much new in the kitchen, and I don't think i'd ever taken an actual class before. The format of the adult healthy cooking class was wonderful. After prepping the meal and leaving it took cook, we all took our seats at a long hardwood table, sparsely yet elegantly decorated, and had a delightful family dinner. We met several new & old members of the community, and reconnected with some neighbors we don't see too often. Oh, also the entire four courses of our meal (which we did such great jobs at making) were a wonderful, healthy menu. If I'm not inspired to cook more often, I'm definitely inspired to come back for...

I recently had my mother’s 70th birthday party at Kitchen table and it was fabulous from the moment I connected with Dawn to begin planning. Dawn was delightful to work with and so helpful. Especially when I screwed up getting a cake in time and she found me a baker in a pinch who made a fabulous cake. Chef Melissa was amazing and had everyone engaged the entire time, she was very funny and had a great personality. The food was phenomenal! The owner showed up to assist me with a picture slideshow I made and even purchased an app to make sure everything worked smoothly.
