This place came recommended by the condo owner where we stayed. I had to make sure I had the correct place. Because there's two with very similar names.
We came in on a saturday, and I contacted them to see if we could get kayaks for Sun - Tue. It rained on Sunday so we spent the day elsewhere. I never heard a word, so when we returned late that evening, I asked if the kayaks were ours that were locked up. They said yes and then gave us the code. They informed me I could have an extra day due to the rain. New days Mon-Wed. Perfect.
We went out on Monday for a while. Tuesday AM after my husband went out to use and found he forgot to lock them. And somebody from the condos took a ride in it. He locked them up once they returned. We came back later to use them again in the afternoon, and the paddles were gone. We figured maybe some kids took them, and they were long gone out in the ocean.
Wednesday, I see a couple next to them. I figured maybe they're there to pick them up a day early because it wasn't communicated or something. I never met the people who dropped them off. I asked them if they were there to pick them up. They said no, that they were their kayaks. The company called them the day prior and told them that there were already kayaks there for them as of Tuesday. I don't know if they thought that there were two sets of kayaks there? It was still only our set for 2 more days. The gentleman was confused because he said he took the kayak out for a ride (explains it). And then, when he came back later on, they were locked up. He didn't understand why, so they took the paddles to their room.
The only way of communicating with this company is via text message, and we've got a lot of text messages. Everything was great back-and-forth. A lot of communication before I paid them the $132 for the three days (its still 72 hours right? When the couple was there trying to pick them up, they didn't have a code, so I didn't know to trust them. I contacted the company. There was no answer. I then sent text messages, several of them.
I explained the situation. I said they're here to pick up their kayak, saying that you told them they were already there for them as of yesterday morning.
They didn't think anything of it because they weren't locked, so they didn't think of asking for a code, but I didn't get a code until I asked. So I tended to believe them.
They ended up not using the code. They just untied the strings and took the kayaks. It was very frustrating because we were supposed to have them for that whole day and the day prior, but no paddles, no kayaks. No response from the company. I've sent many text messages between when the couple was there and now one week later, not one response after multiple back and forth.
Go somewhere else. There is too much to choose from, and this business is obviously hiring the wrong people if it's not themselves. There is no excuse for this. They're not relying on repeat...
Read moreTwo different people gave me a hard time on a simple request for a bike tire. 27 diameter by inch and a quarter. The owner gave me a 28 by inch and a half which I almost purchased until I looked at the size. I'm thinking to myself did you not hear me? He said I needed to send him a picture of the tire which I found out I don't need that information from other bicycle shops. Just simply 27 by inch and a quarter. The first time I called for the same item they had it in stock and I went down and purchased it very simply based solely upon 27 by inch and a quarter with no other information requested by phone from me to complete the sale for a simple request. The second time I called for another tire the same size they said they have one in stock and come on down. It was sold by the time I got there two days later because of my delay. My fault. They said they needed to order one now. Point being they also like the first time didn't mention I needed information to purchase a tire that would fit before I went down there like the first time. I asked what additional information was required when I went down there and found out it was not in stock and they wouldn't explain that to me when I asked and instead just said send us a picture and why can you not send us a picture like I wouldn't understand their explanation the second time I called them? I called up with all the numbers on the tire and they said they needed a picture again with no explanation why 27 by inch and a quarter is not enough information when I asked. I didn't care what type of tread and told them that. May I suggest you apply better listening skills and give your customer what they want and make it easy to purchase. Or at least giving an explanation why you need additional information. They took a simple thing and made it difficult and I wound up ordering it through Amazon because I didn't want to subject myself to the same. I was extremely nice with them and professional the entire time and very clear and not ambiguous...
Read moreWe stayed at the Continental Inn in Key Colony Beach and this company was very easy to work with. We chose the Baja Beach Cruisers and I thought the price for the week was more than fair. I texted the provided number the night before we wanted the bikes and they dropped them off at our place around 8 a.m. the next morning. We went off on our ride and we got to the end of the street and the chain guard fell off my wife's rental. It just so happened to take place right in front of one of the owners and she stopped and helped us out. She didn't have the correct tools on hand so she picked up both bikes took them back to the shop and 30 minutes later delivered them back to us as good as new. That's some solid customer service right there and we appreciated it. Aimee was the one who helped us and she was extremely friendly and nice and welcomed us to KCB. We'll definitely rent bikes from them again. We told her what day we were leaving and she picked the bikes up that day. Sent me a link for Venmo and that's how we paid for the bikes. Extremely easy with little back and forth. Everything was pretty straightforward. Thanks Bike Marathon for the great...
