Note: I am leaving this review here because mine and other's reviews have been hidden on facebook. Unfortunately this is not a school for the community. One of their community members and former students went missing and they have done nothing to help in the effort to bring her home. In fact, they have even censored and blocked people that have suggested that they just share her information in an effort to bring her to safety. There is not a reason I can imagine in my wildest dreams that would be a good enough to ignore and turn your back on a child in trouble and, certainly this is not what a "community" is all about. All we asked was that they use their platform, not just for self promotion, but to help their community member and former dancer, a child, that is in trouble, but they have shown their true colors with their censorship and silence. I would like to add that they have said that they have not shared a post to help find this child because it is "off brand". So...I repeat...this is not a school that actually cares about the helping their community unless it is something that directly benefits them. So as the members of the dance community all over the country are sharing and doing what they can to help, CSA is doing nothing because it is "off brand".
Update: I will update to say, in response to not using your social media platform because you need permission to share a minor. Did you ask for permission? Did you reach out and ask for permission? I imagine her mother would have granted it. Also, major organizations in the dance community including YAGP and NYCDA have shared with no issues and in support because I’m sure they are well aware of the power of social media and that even a like or comment can help things circulate, which you also have not done. The whole thing is just petty...
Read moreMy daughter was a student there for 5 years and loved every minute of it until they got rid of all her dances teachers one by one ! They were our family and they ripped us apart ! I held my tongue on that issue, but now that they have a past student missing and are refusing to use their social media to ask for help in her search I can’t sit quite anymore. Katie Morgan and Shelly Inskeep are the most worthless human beings I know they have sat in the Seats and decided it was “ off brand” to post about the disappearance of Aaliyah Ramirez who is only 14! Shelly and Katie do not care about the children of that community, they only care about the money and getting their way like a couple of selfish immature children. They have also decided to block anyone who ask for them to post about Aaliyah. I will never recommend people to this hate filled place it’s not mentally safe for any child to take...
Read moreThe wide variety of opportunities that Marion Community School of the Arts offers to young people to explore creativity and the arts is absolutely amazing. And CSA brings such joy and life to our community through their theater and dance programs! It is such a remarkable and restorative thing to have a haven for creativity right here in our city, and the leadership of this organization is constantly working to expand access to the life-sustaining and life-changing power of the arts. CSA is absolutely a treasure in our community, and I highly recommend anyone looking for a creative opportunity for their children to explore the...
