Greeted by a note on the unlocked house door proclaiming my room key was on the entry table. The key was in sight for anyone to grab, and the neighborhood wasn’t the greatest (a mixture of condemned houses and rebuilds). The “city view”posted in the listing was an alley with a parked RV and a mixture of houses, some boarded up, some still standing.Upon entry noticed a pungent oder of cat urine and liter boxes. To the right was the “common area” shown in their google posting pictures with beautiful vintage furniture and an area to sit and hang out, when in reality the couches and chairs were covered with sheets and cat beds. You could not use the furniture as it was home to about 7-8 cats. 15 more feet back was the open kitchen/dining area which housed a giant kennel(approximately 4X6 and 5 ft tall) holding 3-4 cats, some of which appeared ill, and a medium kennel housing more cats and two litter boxes. The dining table sits next to the kennels, and the kitchen counter food prep area was home to a food and water dish. There was cat hair everywhere. I went up to my room and a cat followed me in and tried to make himself at home. The room itself was nice but smelled of cat urine. My eyes began watering and my throat was scratching. I called and asked for a refund and was told no. I tried to stay but just couldn’t do it. The experience was overwhelming and unhealthy. The owner apologized and said she was doing her “ best”, that she ran out of room for her cat rescue in her area, (which I am assuming was the RV parked in backed or one of the rooms upstairs as she stated she lived on the property) and had to house her rescue cats in her B and B. I explained to her I couldn’t stay due to health issues, asked one more time for a refund, and she refused. I told her I was checking out and she asked that I leave the key where I found it. I told her I didn’t feel comfortable leaving it next to an unlocked door where anyone could get the key and do damage to her property. She scoffed . We agreed to a hiding place in a kitchen drawer. The front door knob came off in my hand when I left- the lock didn’t even work apparently.

I wish I could post the pictures I have. This house was in horrible condition! We were met at the door by the owner & her 110 lb long haired dog. I'm a dog person but with being a dog owner comes the task of extra cleanliness. She quite obviously does not understand that. The dining chairs were covered in animal hair so thick we had to cover them with towels. The entire lower lever was covered in construction dust, animal hair & smelled like cat urine. When I asked her to change the litterbox, I was told there were no cats in the house & no litter box (I have pictures of the cat tower in the living room). When I sent her a picture of the litter box in the utility closet, she told me I was snooping in her house. There were bare wires laying under the cabinet in the kitchen on top of dog dishes that contained uneaten food & were filthy. The dining room had a 5 x 8 dog kennel in it that was covered in a layer of thick dust & you could see cat prints on it. The carpet was shredded in areas from the animals. The "continental" breakfast she left us consisted of 2 already open boxes of muffins (1 missing from each box), 1 open container of danish, 3 opened boxes of cereal. Coffeemaker was a tiny 4 cup pot for 8 people. An opened bag of sugar was out for our use....lol. I could go on & on but let's just say this house wasn't up to the most basic standards! I have started the process for a refund & if that doesn't work I will hire an attorney.......this was the worst experience I have ever had with renting vacation properties! DO NOT RENT THIS PLACE!

Lovely place, very comfortable and quiet. Still some ongoing renovations on the first floor, but zero noise during our stay. A delightful amount of rescue kitties and a very gentle german shepherd named Moe. The owner is an intelligent, friendly person who makes an excellent blueberry stuffed French Toast breakfast. We stayed in the large suite in the back of the upstairs. Worth every penny.

I visited for the Ducktails and James Dean car shows and booked this charming Bed and Breakfast on a whim at the last minute—and I’m so glad I did! The host was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making me feel right at home. The room was spotless, beautifully decorated, and very comfortable. Although I had to head out early for the shows and missed breakfast, everything else about my stay was wonderful. My only minor drawback was the on-street parking; however the host did offer parking in the backyard as well. Still, it didn’t take away from the overall great experience. I’m already looking forward to...
