UPDATE: $85 service charge + $80 in labor for 1 hour to be told we don't have that part in the truck and would need to order it...to which you would pay for another $80 labor for the part to be installed when it comes in.

The tech Jerry is really knowledgeable but they are not an authorized Whirlpool repair company and don't have any parts. He did put some grease on the idler pulley (a very common part that fails) to quiet the noise until the part I ordered comes in.

Less than 24 hours later it sounds horrible again and I really regret spending $165 with Iowa Appliance to look at a Whirlpool product.

They are a responsive company, show up on time, friendly but I would not recommend them for repair on any brand they don't sell. We've use a few other appliance repair servicea in recent years. Iowa Appliance is our new go-to option. They we're able to come out on short notice and get a refrigerator working temporarily until a replacement part arrived. They arrived when they said they would, were friendly and professional including the office staff.

We since elected to purchase a new washing machine from them rather than repair and found the sales team as well as the installers also prompt and professional.

Marion — AMAZING experience, we’d gone to other dealers (they did not impress us -specifically one which refused to listen to my wife, others that ignored us). Our Daughter-in-law heard good things about Iowa Appliance Center at her work & suggested we try them.

From the instant we walked in Shawn greeted us, was helpful, HONEST, and researched our questions if he did know the answer already. Shawn was no pressure, engaged with both of us. Thoroughly explained the gas range options. Encouraged us to shop around before deciding (we’d already been to big box options and and even ran down to Kalona).

We went to lunch thoroughly impressed with the experience, then returned to purchase from Shawn. The delivery was sooner than promised, the delivery guys were great also.

IF YOU’RE LOOKING FOR AN APPLIANCE WE STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU VISIT SHAWN AT IOWA APPLIANCE CENTER IN MARION. We’re definitely going back when it’s time to replace another appliance. Price point, customer service, product knowledge, product service, delivery, non pressure, BUY LOCAL verses big box!

My only grievance, we didn’t realize sooner what a great option we had right...

Warning!! I had a terrible experience with this buisness. I had my wash machine brought into their service center to be repaired- it was like new-only year old. A week later ( because a their repair man quit) I went and picked up my washer=175.00. Picked it up, brought it home, plugged it in and it was doing EXACTLY what it did when I dropped it off. They sent a tech out in a day or two, he informs me they NEVER tested it after they replaced the part, just assumed it would work. So they order more parts and I’m not kidding you, a MONTH later they show up and put another part in- and guess what? BIG SHOCK- it’s doing exactly what it did before. After two hours of the tech running “diagnostics” they decide, the motor, the board, and everything else is wrong with my washer and for another 300.00 they will actually FIX my washer!! What a joke. Please do yourself a favor and hire ANYONE but these people! Heck try to fix it yourself, it would probably be less of a headache than dealing with...
