I planned for over a year to attend this festival and drove eleven hours through unbelievable Newnan and Atlanta traffic delays on what should have been a four-hour drive to get there. I was not disappointed.
I have never been to a town I never visited before to have been treated more like family than I was in Shelby, NC. This place is a crown jewel in terms of places everyone should experience. The crafts were excellent, local, and homemade. The fresh vegetable market was awesome and plentiful. And the town was beautiful and meticulously clean.
The object of my visit, eating Livermush on a roll, was achieved, and the Livermush was delightfully flavorful and appropriately crispy. Kudos to Mark's Livermush for the best Livermush ever and to the wonderful people who manned the only Livermush booth at the festival.
I needed to get away from my daily grind for a while, and the Livermush Festival in Shelby was the perfect getaway!

Read moreI enjoyed the booths with crafts and all different types of things for sale. People were very creative with the things they brought to sell. A little expensive on some things, but I understand when someone puts allot of time into their products, they expect more money. Sometimes that's not always the case and it's overcharging. Overall, it was fun. There were a ton of people there. Quite crowded, but a pleasant crowd for the most part. The only disappointment was that I didn't get a livermush sandwich or biscuit.
