However, I'm giving this place a low review because of staff behavior and professionalism, hoping it'll call attention to management. I asked a general question and the cashier wasn't even paying attention and was distracted reading her book. I thought whatever it's a book store. I've seen quite a few book store staff are like this.

What got me was after we bought something the day of and found something in the book store around the corner we liked more and tried to get a return. We went back in and the same cashier was more interested in reading her book off her phone than helping. I asked if I can get a refund. She looked at me, cluelessly, and said, "I don't know." I asked, "Do you not have a return policy or you just don't know how?" She said, " I don't know. Sorry." then goes back to reading. Awkward moment. I would've just preferred if she lied to me to tell there's no return policy or a "all sales are final" than telling she doesn't know how. I would assume doing a return is a general thing that would be covered in training.

Nikki, the owner reached out to me after seeing my review and immediately took to addressing the issue I had and took steps to prevent the issue from happening again! She offered me a refund, which wasn't necessary at this point since I'm from out of town. This kind of reception and willingness to accept and take into consideration customer feedback deserves 5-stars...

I really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately, our experience was incredibly disappointing. My husband and I were made to feel deeply uncomfortable during our visit due to the owner’s behavior. Nikki was not only aggressive in her approach but also made several fatphobic remarks that were completely inappropriate and uncalled for.

When we politely tried to disengage, she continued to press us in a way that felt intrusive and disrespectful. What should have been a relaxing bookstore visit turned into an upsetting experience that left both of us shaken.
