Live music every Friday night across the street at the new Family Plaza is fantastic! Rain brings the music indoors at the Center. Juried shows, classes, and a fantastic vibe all await you from the moment you extricate yourself from your vehicle! The walk to the front door includes a PVC and flip-flop percussion instrument, a classic Grecian head with a plant growing out (rather than hair) and many other sculptural gems hidden amongst the annuals and perennials. The Chestnut Center is an outstanding asset to the Marshfield community in every way. They've done a fantastic job of turning this old church into a multi-use space to promote and support local arts and artists. I love coming here for the Downtown Friday Nights concert series, which features local and regional music of all genres. Chestnut Center for the Arts is housed in an incredible older church. The performance hall has some of the best acoustics in the area. Thw gallery could be expanded. And, there are areas of the building needing somw TLC. That said, I am biased on this one. My studio is here and I am a board member. CCA is a dream in progress. It has a solid foundation, but we need to get the community more engaged...
