Green Ti Massage — Local services in Maui

My one star review has nothing to do with the honor. I had a brief conversation with him and I really enjoyed our conversation. I think very highly of the owner. However the new hire that he had presented me with to give me a massage was extremely poor. She completely ignored all of my recommendations of why I came in, lower back between cocyx and L4, upper trapezius, right knee, right ankle. She proceeded instead to hurt my rhomboid on the right side by too much pressure painfully where I flinched twice and she continued doing that. She also applied the same amount of pressure on my hamstrings right side four times left side three times when a patient flinches that means it's painful or it's something they don't like. She never once said oh so sorry. Is that too much pressure? She just adjusted and went later and then went to do the same heavy deep pressure again. In any case I decided enough was enough so I said please stop and I finished the massage paid for it and left. I believe lmts are required to know basic human physiology and anatomy and that they should be mindful of their clients needs once and if they flinch to ask them what is wrong and to adjust their massage therapy Likewise. I'm giving a 5 because my therapist was awesome, professional and did a wonderful job on my back & neck! If I have any constructive feedback to give, then it would be spread out the massage more in order to hit the requested problems areas better. I should have mentioned that my hamstrings needed more work than my back, so I'm not blaming my therapist for that at all. I'm 100% confident that if I would have asked for my hamstrings to be worked more, then I might not have been able to walk out of the massage room without assistance, LOL. As a former licensed massage therapist, I know how important communication can be. I should have communicated better, but once Cassidy went to town on my neck and back, I went into massage trance and didn't even think about how much time she was spending there. Three of us booked a massage and all three of us had a fantastic experience here. The masseuses are top notch. The owner, who booked the massages for us by phone, said the masseuses he employs have 10-20 years of experience and clearly they do. We were impressed, and we are “massage aficionados” and don’t say that unless well deserved. The owner is super nice, and when we were checking out, we asked him for restaurant recommendations on Maui and he spent a good 20 minutes telling us of various places to go on the island with good local food at a good price and not touristy.
