Sugar Cane Train Maui (Lahaina, Kaanapali & Pacific Railroad) — Local services in Maui

We did the holiday express and had some mixed feelings...mostly because we’re a young couple with no children, I think. And I also had high expectations because I love stuff like this!

Pros: enthusiastic staff, easy check-in, parking wasn’t a problem (but we did arrive early), all the kids seemed to love it, activities for the kids while waiting for the train, milk and cookies were delicious. The staff also mentioned that the train has recently acquired more land along the train track, so hopefully they’ll be able to turn this into more of a scenic event in the future.

Cons: the train is pretty cramped, so as two adults sitting facing two other adults, leg room was a hot commodity and our butts were hurting soon. I have never been to this place, but I hear that this is such a very cool and awesome place for steam train enthusiasts. Although it has been in a state of disrepair since 2014, I believe this train ride deserves to be saved and be facing a very positive...
