Let me paint a picture. It was our first day in Lahaina and we were procuring goods for our vacation stay. We hit up the nearby Safeway but didn’t know what to get for dinner. Knowing our mom she would love to make “dinengdeng” for the family. So the hunt for an Asian store began. I found a familiar term during my search “Kusina” and so we dare ventured. I was first confused as I saw a PNB sign, so I was like wait hold on am I in the right place? Well the best adventures come when unexpected. Though my family and I only spent a few minutes in the store we had a blast seeing products that we needed and was close to heart and hit home. Not to mention the warm company of miss Kathryn Margaret aka miss kukai hopefully I spelled those names right lol. Thank you so much for helping us out! We’ll be back if ever we need something else...

We researched the best halo halo as I had never had it. As a non-Filipino I had my doubts. Well, not only do I understand why it’s so loved, but I might be spoiled. I can’t imagine anyone doing it better. In fact, my Filipino girlfriend suggested this might be the best she has ever had. We also got chicharron (crispy and delicious), turon (wow!), biko (I haven’t tried yet, but they said it was yummy) and finally Portuguese egg tarts. Also haven’t tried them but getting good reviews. Oh yeah, after eating the halo halo I ran back in to get a leche flan! That thing is amazing!
