We went as a family of 5 — 3 boys ages 16, 13, 11 — and we absolutely adored our experience. The Captain, Katie, was excellent; both smart at the helm and friendly to chat with. Scuba Steve, Clay, and Dave were all super friendly, well-versed in all things snorkeling, snuba, and marine life, and they were extremely attentive throughout the adventure. The fact that the crew aboard serves the food, facilitates a first-class snorkeling excursion, fills the drinks, raises the sails, and more, was truly impressive. The entire operation was seamless!!

The catamaran was spotless, the bathrooms were emaculate (for ship bathrooms), the ride was smooth (though it was said many times that we had IDEAL weather and wind conditions so yay for us;)), the food and drinks were plentiful, and the snorkeling equipment was great. I appreciated the easy access to drinking water and sunscreen as well. Our 11yo loved looking at the fish “guides” in the galley (or cabin?). The boys also liked chilling on the nets up front. My husband and our 13 yr old did snuba and 13yo said it was the highlight of his trip! Love that so much. I appreciated that outside of the two options for floatation devices, they had several boogie boards which made for a perfect way for 11yo and I to stay connected when he got tired. Crew member Clay was out on the water monitoring and I saw him assisting a couple people who had wandered over into our tour group but were with another tour and I thought that was pretty exceptional. Also, Clay encouraged me to try free diving and gave me the boost I needed to try it! Just really felt like the crew loves what they do and really delights in the entire vibe of snorkeling and being on the water.

We did not see any turtles on our tour but we saw some pretty fish, coral, and the coolest thing — a monk seal.

The food was delicious! From the cinnamon rolls and fresh fruit to fresh salsa and chips to chicken, salad, rice, and rolls for lunch — it was all so fresh and just the right light menu for a few hours out on the water. With each meal, they offered seconds/thirds/whatever and came around with the food several times.

I’ve been on a few other snorkeling excursions in the past and I felt that this crew provided the most fun and comprehensive instruction including some really good tips I’d never heard before. When I asked the kids for their reviews, they said the people on the crew were awesome, the food was really good, the option to sit outside or in the galley was great when the sun got hot, the snuba was amazing, and they would want to do it again and again.

The on-board photographer, Chloe, was also a nice addition to the crew. She was delightful and we loved the photos and couldn’t believe how many we got for the price!

Disclaimer that this is the only snorkeling excursion we’ve done on Maui but truly highly recommend Trilogy. The experience they provide made for money well-spent and memories well-made. Would recommend doing a morning tour with kids. Even though it’s an earlier wake up, it felt like the sun on the boat and also choppier water might be less fab as the day goes on.

Thank you so much to Trilogy for the mems...

Wow! What an experience! The email they send you once you book your trip is a necessity. It gives all the details you need and what you can expect. It gives you times, directions, and the itinerary. Every single crew member was AMAZING! They served and cared for everyone on the boat. We all left feeling cared for. Finding out Trilogy is a family owned business that has been around for 49 years made us realize why it is important for them to take care of their customers. Their snorkeling excursion schedule is perfect and seamless. When we arrived to Slip 99 (across from the General Store in Ma'alaea), we were checked in. As we boarded Trinity I, we were handed our equipment. We put our stuff away and found a seat outside of the boat. We took off toward Molokini Crater and we were served breakfast. Yummy, delicious cinnamon rolls (a 4th generation family recipe), oranges, and pineapple. They also served a variety of drinks like coffee, water, pineapple juice, POG, hot chocolate, sodas, etc. We explored the fish at Molokini Crater and then boarded the boat again. We took off to Makena Turtle Town. We swam way out to Turtle Town and found a couple of turtles. After we discovered all Turtle Town had to offer, we boarded the boat again. We were served lunch on our way back to Ma'alaea. The lunch was delicious. We had teriyaki chicken, rice, salad, and a Hawaiian roll. We were also offered a variety of drinks, which also included adult beverages. After lunch, we had some yummy vanilla ice cream with chocolate sauce on top of it. It was very tasty! We had an overall amazing experience.

I can't put into words how kind, friendly, and generous the crew was. They shared personal experiences with my family as we engaged in conversation with every one of them to get to know them. We had the pleasure of having Captain Riley as one of our crew members whose family owns Trilogy. They took such good care of us and gained our trust so we could rely on them no matter what. If we needed additional information or help, they didn't hesitate to give us suggestions and they didn't make us feel like we were being a nuisance. I was having trouble with excess water coming into my mask and one of the crew members helped me adjust my mask. Her reminder of only breathing through my mouth helped me refocus my breathing and stop the water from coming into my mask. We appreciate every aspect of our trip because they truly made us...

I don’t even know where to begin… if I could give more stars I would!! This trip was beyond our expectations.

The Trilogy crew didn’t just take us on a trip to Lanai today. They went above and beyond and treated us like “Ohana”! They got to know each and everyone of us on the boat and not because they were told to but because they genuinely wanted to. They treated us with respect, made us laugh, made sure we were comfortable and safe, and took care of all of us even down to the smallest details.

When I say small details I mean they even provided multiple forms of motion sickness wellness items and sunscreen for no extra cost. They made sure you knew how to properly and safely wear your snorkel gear. They assisted with everything to make sure you were safe. They went out of their way to check in with you to make sure your trip was the best it could be and they succeeded!

We were fed so many meals and snacks throughout the day if you left hungry that was your own fault. They provided coffee, water, juice, cinnamon rolls, assorted fruit, croissant sandwiches, kettle corn popcorn (that was delicious), pretzels, another full meal for lunch, cocktails, ice cream and I’m sure I’m missing something else.

There was also a photographer aboard who took pictures of everyone during the entire duration of the trip including in the ocean! It was like you had your own personal photographer. There was an opportunity to purchase the photo package or respectfully decline. The photos turned out amazing and the package deal couldn’t be beat. We received over 150 photos!

We would like to give a huge shout out to Captain Turtle, Chris, Casey and I’m sorry but I forgot the other crew members name. We called him bob marleys son haha. You guys were absolutely amazing and we really appreciate everything you did for us!

Hands down the best experience! We will most definitely be telling our family and friends about them and we will also be returning next time we visit! Until next...

It’s been exactly 1 week since we sailed with Captain Raquel, Emma, Scott and Dylan led the Trilogy IV out to Lana’i. My wife and I haven’t stopped talking about how amazing our experience was. It’s hard to beat a warm later winter day in Maui with little to no winds during whale season, but it was the crew that made the sail special. Captain Raquel was extremely personable and made sure to stop and turn the boat to face any whales we encountered. She was patient, kind and she is well respected by her crew, colleagues and passengers on the boat. Emma, Scott and Dylan all made our day even more special. Like I said, it’s not too hard to take a boat out around Maui, set you up with some snorkel gear and call it a day. But it was the crew that provided an exceptional experience that really set the said apart. Emma from Oregon, Scott and Dylan born and raised on Maui, we’re happy to chat, make sure you had a drink or food in your hand and even put up the sails even though there was no wind to catch. There are many other companies to sail with around Maui, and this being our first time we paid up for the company with the best reviews, and they did not disappoint. From the POG juice, coffee, and cinnamon rolls to kick off your day, to the bbq chicken luncheon after snorkeling, Trilogy underpromises and over delivers. That’s a rarity for experiences these days. Every company wants to promise you the world to get you to book with them but Trilogy doesn’t have to do that. Their reputation proceeds themselves and for good reason. The small touches of POG juice, water and snacks at the beach to the ice cream sundaes on the ride back to Maui from Lanai, there is no let down. You’re pulling into Lahaina Harbor hoping it doesn’t have to come to an end. That’s saying a lot for a 6+ hour day and it’s all owed to the crew. Well done Trilogy. Please don’t forget that it’s your amazing Captain and crew that makes your sails an unforgettable memory.
