This hotel is rated on Priceline (which is where we reserved the room) at such a low 2.0 stars . It is way underrated on Priceline. This hotel is wonderful. It definitely at least a 3.6 star hotel for rooms and 3.9 (or higher) (for service and facilities) as rated here on google. We have stayed at Elyria, OH before at 2.5 and 3.0 star hotels (rated on Priceline) and this is SO much better than those hotels. Initially I was worried. However, I don't think anyone had ever stayed in the room before us. It was just that clean!! I'm providing 2 videos and one picture (this were taken AS WE WERE LEAVING the room). I would have videoed before if I known how clean the room was and that I'd would be writing a review, I'd had video'd BEFORE we settled into the room. I just want everyone to see how clean and nice the room was. I don't think anyone had ever stayed in our room before us. So you can understand; I usually wear socks in hotel rooms because I'm afraid of the lack of cleanliness on the carpet. However after just a few moments in the room at Extended Stay America - Maumee, my socks were off. I don't know if these rooms were just updated or that the cleaning staff are just rock stars, but I have never felt so comfortable in a hotel room as far as cleanliness goes. I am the person that travels with Lysol and wipes down everything and this was before COVID-19. I'm that person who actually cleans the bathroom floors before my family walks on them in hotel rooms, because 2.5 and 3.0 star rooms on priceline have been really disgusting. However, this hotel room I didn't have to do any of that. Sure, I walked on the floor the first few hours with my socks on, but after I determined that this hotel room was brand new they came off. I can't say enough nice things about the staff and the clean room that we stayed in. Regarding customer service, we were greeted by Alexia after she had been on a very long shift and she was just so nice and I couldn't believe she was sweet as pie after such a long shift. She was the ultimate in customer service. She could be at a five star hotel and still shine! Also, as we were leaving the maintenance man held the door for us and then waited until we had loaded our luggage and then returned the cart for us. I have NEVER stayed in a hotel that treated me like royalty like this hotel. Thank you Extended stay America - Maumee for a lovely stay! We will make this our hotel as we travel across Interstate 90 in Ohio! Keep up...
Read moreThe price, location, size of the room, and staff are all great. The staff were polite and friendly, prompt with service with check in and out, and helpful when we had to request extra pillows (we were only given one, with two people on the reservation). My son and I stayed for 5 nights, and the price was significantly better than any other hotels we'd looked at in the area.||The location is perfect to get on the highway, or into town, quickly, with a lot to do in the area. There was some noise from within the walls from other rooms, like water in the pipes or thudding sounds, but mostly quiet. We also didn't take advantage of the laundry, gym, or free breakfast, but were made to know they were available upon check in, along with how to access the WiFi.||That said, the room itself left a bit to be desired. Small things, like the sink in the bathroom was (likely) clogged and therefore very slow draining, a piece of the dresser was broken and kept falling off every time we opened a drawer... etc.||But, most importantly - the carpeted floor in the room was FILTHY, and clearly had not been cleaned in months, or more. They should consider removing the carpet altogether if the cleaning staff doesn't have the time to clean them and they're not going to bring in outside services regularly to supplement. Even just stepping out of the shower and walking to the dresser or bed to get my clothes, a total of maybe 10-15 steps, and the bottoms of my feet were filthy. Definitely bring some sort of sandals or house shoes that you wear immediately upon exiting the tub and don't take off again until you...
Read moreI read the reviews prior to coming to the Maumee, OH site and I thought, yeah ummm these reviews had to come from the people who work here. I've been to a couple of Extended Stays in the past and was not really satisfied with the rooms, the upkeep of the property or the customer service. So instantly my mind went to negativity. Knowing I would already have to go in and bleach everything down being that I will be there for months and to make it my "own" living conditions. I got to the hotel and Billy, the General Manager, was in such a good spirit, welcomed me in and let me know the background of the hotel and area. I got to my room and was shocked. The room was very much CLEAN, the kitchen area was very nice. The CARPET....when I tell you I've seen the worst of the worst. The carpet look as if it was newly shampooed, probably wasn't but it was nice enough for me. Although I still bleach everything down, because it's a habit. I was pleased. I needed a light bulb for the stove, and here comes the young man (I forgot his name) with the light bulb. After an hour of asking him for it and he had to ask maintenance because they have left for the day. I totally forgot I called for the light bulb because I just got off work. But I was pleased that he came up. (no fault of hotel I forgot). Everyone staff member I've met made me feel welcomed. Made me feel like we've been friends forever. They treated me with so much respect and was always willing to help. I definitely will come back to this site if I ever have to return to...
