Today, I brought in a basket of clean, non-stained, modern clothes from labels including, Loft, Banana and Vici. I also brought in two pairs of shoes - Keds and Target. The older lady with glasses who took in my basket was beyond friendly to the person who sold in front of me. When she did intake on me, she was short and nasty. After waiting 45 minutes, she called me up - they were buying only the two pairs of shoes for $6. I asked if she could clarify why not the other items, including two pairs of denim cutoffs from Vici and four pairs of jeans from Loft. She said that those items were too old - past the two-year mark. Completely baffled, because three out of the four pairs were purchased within the last 2-3 months and had tags from the manufacturer showing late 2020 and early 2021 dates, she informed me that she has a “special system” that accurately tells her the date of clothing. How she can prove that against what the tag says, I don’t know. It’s more mysterious than the Bermuda Triangle. Plus, when half of your inventory is ripped and/or stained, her words about dates meant very little. I left and drive 30 minutes to Clothes Mentor North Olmsted. The staff is always much friendlier and the store is cleaner. You can tell those ladies love what they do. And they love helping women feel good when shopping or selling. Within 6 minutes, they had purchased the four pairs of jeans and two pairs of shorts. I explained the terrible experience I had in Mayfield and learned both stores share the same ownership. She pulled out the “special system,” which dates clothing based on the look of the brand’s tag. She said these items were all within the two years and apologized for the experience I had. Moral of the story: drive the extra amount of time to sell at Clothes Mentor North Olmsted. The staff is honest, fair and friendly. I even bought two things! PS before Randi responds to this review, yes I know the Banana dress, Loft shorts and Loft black pants were slightly older. But at least they were still in style, clean, not stained and not stretched out, which is better than your current inventory. You just can’t justify this selling experience. Pay those ladies at NO more!...
Read moreI am very disappointed in this place!!! Today I was discriminated against not just today but previously. I tried to give them a second chance and it backfired!! When checking in this lady whom has a short wig & green blouse & green loafers checked me in & smirked at me for coming in. Not welcoming at all & didn't speak! I overheard her call the whole store to the computer to see my selling history on the computer not to mention they were ignoring the customer who needed there help in front of them to gossip about me. Look I make more money in a day selling at these places then they make bi-weekly and that’s were the jealous comes in as to why shes tallying up my money from all the times I sold items!! This woman told the girls that I just sold a few days ago at another location!! “You dont have to take anything honestly its really up to you!!” I will say the dark skinned woman in pink was very sweet! The white woman next to her was quite soaking things up. The woman in pink said “she didn’t mind going through my items as it is there job to do so!!” I walked up to her and told her it’s ok she didn’t have too and politely grabbed my stuff back!! She felt bad of how she treated me and said she’s sorry I was mistreated and she had no idea why she showed the whole store my selling history!! I left smiling & unbothered realizing it’s a mental illness & identifying the narcissist behavior in plain sight & walked out. Nonetheless; I have online closets that I sell my items and when I have no room for it. I sell my overflow clothing to places like clothes mentor & Plato’s closet. I have a masters degree in psychology , 2X author & I’m a content creator who has 30 thousand followers on all social media platforms. I’ll be sure to get the word out that this place discriminates on young black woman!!! The lady in green is extremely miserable and unhappy with her life!! That it’s effecting the way she interacts with customers!!...
Read moreThis was one of the worst and humiliating experiences of my life. I have been to this location 4 times total; prior 2 times I was pleased. 3rd and 4th my last time today. Each was a bad time I was dealing with the rudest and shadiest woman I have met in my entire life. My 3rd time they were just just flat out rude to me when I walked in (no I didn't have garage bags) and the 4th time. I came in with a garbage bag of stuff. One customer said "is their still a laundry basket policy"? As she looks at me. The worker looks me up and down in disgust as if she didn't even want to deal with me. And replys snarkly " yes we do. As she glances at me. I can 100% understand the policy(which I wasn't even aware of till that day), but the way I have been treated on more than one occasion just says a lot about the people they hire/management. I don't like shady people because obviously they were talking about me so I speak up and ask if me with my bag is okay? She replied "Do you have anything else"? I said no. A minute pass I was next in line. I was talking to the employee she didn't even have the decency to look me in the eye when she was talking to me. Like if you guys don't like your jobs you don't have to take it out on me. Goodluck.
(Update 5/13/2022) I received a call from the owner (that I did not authorize or give them my phone number) who said to me that she was the one who assisted me and created that encounter. That is even shameful. The actual owner was the person who caused this very hurtful and...
