I had a truly great experience at the Ollie’s on 23rd in McAllen thanks to their manager, Claudia. A couple of days after a big shopping trip, I realized I had accidentally left behind 7 Febreze air fresheners at the checkout counter. When I returned to the store, the associate called Claudia up front to assist me.

Claudia explained that the associate who helped me that day had taken the time to write down my description and the time of my visit, then taped it to the box of items I left behind and put it aside for safekeeping. Because of that extra effort, everything was waiting for me when I came back.

Claudia was incredibly friendly, professional, and made me feel great about choosing Ollie’s. Her customer-first attitude, along with her team’s attention to detail and honesty, is why I enjoy shopping here so much. She is a wonderful manager and a perfect example of excellent...

I visited this store on opening day, they used to be a 99cent store before. Really nice looking, very liminal. There's lots of deals with house items, electronics and cars. I saw some toys and books, great for holidays gifts. Theres employees always asking to help you out, there's one in particular "Jose" he came up to me like 5 times, he seemed nice and attentive. But at the checkout there was a lady bagging our items and she didn't seem as nice as him. Either way, pretty cool store, Ill be coming more often. I really liked the "Ollie" character, he was very funny in all of the posters. 4/5 stars, it was my first time coming to an "Ollie's" I recommend stopping by for all types...

There are absolutely no discounts here, you can definitely find the same items for cheaper at bigger chains like Walmart. Example: a $20 fishing pole at Ollie’s is $10 at academy (same brand)

It honestly just feels like they’re trying to exploit the lower income community but you get an additional bonus of employees looking at you like you’re a degenerate animal.
