The shop seems nice enough, the customer relations, however, leave a lot to be considered.

My daughter and I went in to find some items for her wedding preparations. A sign requiring masks was posted. They were nice enough to provide paper masks and, as I picked one up, I expressed to my daughter my that I was so tiref of wearing masks. Not a judgment on the business requirements and, since I said it quietly, it really was between my daughter and myself. The woman at the checkout said that we are all tired of the masks but we need to wear them out of compassion for others. Mind you, her tone of voice and derogatory facial expression did not come from a place of understanding the frustration at the situation and that I was not making a social statement. She was looking down at me with condescending dislike. Let's not forget, I wasn't talking to her OR asking for her opinion. I understand the reason for the masks, I just hate wearing them! That was it and that was all. Her interference in a conversation she wasn't a part of was very rude and really not necessary as she made an assumption and got the whole thing wrong. This bookstore was so welcoming and charming! I was wondering how on earth they couldn’t have 5 stars, turns out their bad reviews are from bigots being mad at the inclusive book selection or people who didn’t like they needed to wear masks during covid times - so completely unfounded and ridiculous complaints.

We are from Boise and wanted to kill some time before a dinner reservation, they allowed us to read the books we were interested to see if we wanted to buy them and were helpful with book recommendations. What a wonderful store!! There was an amazing selection of books for all kinds of readers. A fantastic Idaho section with so many gems. My daughter was in love with the childrens/young adult section as well as the toy selection. Art supplies, journals, gifts... I could have spent hours in there and been a happy camper. On top of that was a fantastic staff! My daughter ended up with a random and horrible bloody nose and the staff was so incredibly kind and helpful.
