I had an unpleasant experience, and I’ll try to detail it sticking to the facts of what happened. They outfitted half of my group for cross country skiing. Each person said their size in US sizing and the gal helping got them a pair of boots to try. When it was my turn to say my husband’s size (who wasn’t there in person) I asked if there was any chance they carry size 14 men’s. She said, “I don’t know we do European sizing”. I thought this strange as she seemed irritated but had just helped everyone else in US sizing.
I said, “I understand if you don’t have it, I’m just not sure the conversion to EU”.
She said, “We gave out our biggest size this morning”.
I said, “No worries what size was that?”
She sighed and said “45.” (You could see the irritation all over her face here. It felt passive aggressive to one word me with the EU size especially after I said I’m totally lost with the EU sizing)
I said, “Ok…. Is that about a 14?”
She said, “Like I said, I don’t know”.
At this point I was feeling uncomfortable. I said, “Do you want me to Google it?” She said yes, so I pulled up my phone in front of her to google the conversion. Again, everyone else gave their US size and she helped them no problem.
Then, as I’m googling, she finally said, “The size we gave out this morning was a 12.5 US for reference.”
I would have appreciated something along the lines of “Darn it, our biggest size went out this morning and it was about a 12.5. I’m sorry about that!” As opposed to the thick attitude and the run-around she gave.
I’m not sure why she was helpful to everyone else, but literally had me on Google trying to figure out conversions for a shoe she knew she didn’t have. My sister was with me and was stunned at the attitude out of nowhere. We think she was bothered that my husband wasn’t there in person? But we aren’t sure because we did other rentals for people who weren’t there in-person and she wasn’t rude about those ones.
On top of it all, I had been to your store the day prior to buy some ski boots for myself and I was the one who took the rental pricing sheet home to my group, convinced 10 adults to rent, and hauled my group to your store raving that it was great service. How embarrassing!
My sister and I walked out and went down the road to Home Town Sports where they had tons of sizes so I outfitted my husband and the rest of the family through them. They were pleasant, cheerful, and joked around with us about my husband’s ridiculous shoe size. You could tell they genuinely wanted to help and to give us a good time. That’s just my experience and maybe she was just having a bad day, but I will definitely go to Home Town Sports over McCall Sports for the customer service and overall better experience. The prices were the same, too!

Read moreI came up excited to share an exciting experience with my 3 boys and was willing to pay 75$ for 4 hours on the lake. There was a long wait and when we finally got the kyaks they helped someone else behind us making 3 boys wait loner. After loading our kayaks on small wheels. We were not given instructions about anything!!!!! It was difficult to get down to the Lake because the kayaks were not tied down well so they would fall and create an imbalance that was hard on the back. When we finally go down to the water they had given my 6 year old an adult lifejacket and had forgotten to give us other equipment. There was a lot of wind and the waves were choppy so my 6 year old sreamed in terror and tried to jump off the boat so we didn't get to stay out long . After the hell of loading the kyaks back up and getting them up the hill they would not give us a refund!!!! And didn't even have the courtesy to come back and tell us that we had finished checking out. I will never ever go to this...
Read moreWanna talk about shady? We bought a vehicle from this store witch she seemed super honest, we drove 4 hours to her and another 2 back home. We got back and I had a mechanic look at it and tell me how he ran the CARFAX and it actually has 300K MILES! She seemed super shocked at first and I told her I would like for this not to be a big deal and would just like to get my cash back and she can have her car, long story short she some how convinced me to keep the car by saying she was going to give me $2500 back, I went ahead and told my mechanic to put just over 3100 into the car to make sure it was okay. It’s been over 5 weeks now and she blocked my number and said she doesn’t have to do anything. Please take your money else where. This lady is very dishonest. Rolling the mileage back on a...
