We have always loved coming to Ice Cream Alley every year when we come on our family vacation to McCall. Unfortunately we will not being giving them our business anymore. We had an extremely unpleasant experience on our recent visit. The young girls working the shop were insistent that we wear our masks. Once my family and I did put on our masks they still treated us disrespectfully. I placed my mask slightly under my nose and one of the girls kept harassing me to put the mask entirely over my nose. I explained to her that I had a medical exception and she asked to see my medical card. My husband quickly reminded her that asking for my medical reason was against the law!! She rudely told us to take our business elsewhere. Which is exactly what we will be doing. As well as informing all our friends that Ice Cream Alley does not respect its customers. Yes we understand this is a difficult time but in all the situations we’ve had where my family has not wore a mask because of our medical condition we’ve never been told to take our business elsewhere. We’ve always been treated with respect. The workers at were both rude and disrespectful and also did not follow the city rules regarding masks. Snow cones for us...

Stopping at Ice Cream Alley used to be a highlight for us when visiting McCall until this last trip. Out of the four or five girls working the shop Saturday (8/6) evening, not one was wearing gloves or a hair net. It was disturbing to watch them wipe their foreheads and kick hair out of their faces with their hands in between scooping. What was most unpleasant was watching a girl stick her thumb knuckle deep (no exaggeration there, seriously) into a scoop of ice cream as she was pushing it down into a large waffle cone not just once but THREE times. Gross, am I right? I wish I would’ve just canceled my order all together because watching the behind the scenes action ruined the special experience for me. It was a very busy time of day so I understand they were just trying to hurry, but gloves and hair nets aren’t too much to ask for. There’s a sign next to the pick up window saying “for healthy and safety reasons, please wait 4 feet away from the window”…. There’s bigger health and safety concerns going on in there than keeping our distance from the window. On a positive note, the ice cream is yummy, they have a lot of awesome flavors to choose from, and the scoops...

We’ve enjoyed ice cream alley for years and it’s a McCall tradition for our family! However, this last weekend the service seemed to go downhill. The young man wrote our orders down for the girls in the back. He must have written multiple things wrong because when we told the girls who handed our kids their orders that the flavors were wrong or it was served in a bowl instead of a cone, she rudely told us that’s what was on our order. We were also charged for 8 orders but only ordered 7…and you get charged a gratuity fee for 8 or more orders, which of course we were charged, and shouldn’t have been. At this point, they seemed so annoyed at us correcting the orders that we didn’t push it any further. Just really disappointing experience for a business we have fond memories of. Please, please train these young kids to have better customer service skills!! This is a lost skill in this generation. People caring about people is what makes McCall so unique!!

Recommendation to owner: it would be super helpful if you had a list of dye free options posted for ease and...

Solid ice cream with incredibly generous portion sizes. I'm pretty sure I just got a Single Scoop "split" into two flavors and it came out to far more ice cream than I needed. Did I still eat it all? Absolutely. The quality of the ice cream is above average compared to a random scoop shop, but I've had better - which is the reason for the 4/5 stars. That said, if it was possible to give 4.5/5 overall I would have... because the energy and vibes around the shop (and the area) are still great and make it worth the visit! The line will likely be long but it didn't take too long (maybe 10-15mins max). Just note that they're CASH/CHECK ONLY. I repeat, they DO NOT ACCEPT CARDS. Hope that helps!

The line was long but the ice cream was so worth it. We stood in line for about 40 minutes with a dog and child in tow. The ordering process was smart. They had menus so we could decide prior to getting to the front. They take your order at the gate, but luckily they give you a chnce to change your mind if you need to. I did once i saw the sizes. I made my medium order a small because their portions are huge. The ice cream was amazing. I ordered a scoop of Death by Chocolate and a scoop of Rocky Road and both were delicious. The server saw we had a dog and offered him a pup cup at no charge, he was so excited! They only take cash or check so be prepared.

Talk about a lot of ice cream. Three heaping scoops for less than 2 regular scoops what a deal. We got the death by chocolate, the huckleberry and the cinnamon twist. The chocolate was delicious and had little bits to chew on threw out. The huckleberry was good but was not as creamy, and the twist was a little fake but all the ice cream was tasty. This place is literally down an alley way so it does seem a little of the right path but trust the signs.
