Angelo's Fresh Market — Local services in McHenry

This is the only store that I found in McHenry that has the best quality of food and groceries in general. I am not familiar with the grocery stores in this place, so what I did was, each time I had to buy my groceries, I chose different stores just so I could compare which one was better and stuff like that, and I ended up liking this store. First of all, the location is convenient, which is about a few minutes' drive away from where I am staying. Customer service is great, and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Honestly, I think all the stores have great customer service, but when it comes to the grocery items and all that, this store is definitely the best. Just like what its name says, everything is really fresh, from the produce to meat, seafood, any grocery item, and especially the bakery. It is not just fresh, but they also have high quality groceries and the prices are all reasonable, which is exactly what I am looking for in my groceries. I just could not help but choose the store as my go-to store, and that is a decision that I definitely...

Angelo’s has really good fried chicken & wings. On select weekends, they sell full slabs of ribs which are very tasty. (I recommend getting these in the morning when they’re cooked fresh) Fruit prices are reasonable. They also have a nice assortment of strudels which are delivered on Fridays.

**UPDATE: Since the ending of COVID restrictions, the owner quietly changed the cooking oil used for frying it’s chicken to an inferior quality oil. The chicken is greasy & doesn’t taste as good as before. Very disappointed!

The owner’s wife was confronted with this, and she became rather snippy. She denied anything was changed. Her response: “Well…then don’t buy it!”

**2024 UPDATE: Apparently, there was some backlash about the oil used to fry the chicken. The owner went back to the old oil, and the chicken is tasting good again. (although now the pieces are a bit smaller.)

At least twice a month I place a catering order for my church. My order is always correct and ready on time. When I order from Angelo’s in McHenry, I know that I will always get quality well-made delicious food. Here are a few of our top favorites.(that you should try) ✔️Bite-size Italian sausage, and peppers. ✔️Fried chicken or Greek roasted chicken(the seasoning on the Greek chicken is so good) ✔️Sub sandwiches, both the American and the Italian ones. ✔️Angelo’s homemade Italian beef. ✔️Eggplant Parmesan Angelo is very accommodating and helpful in knowing how much is needed to feed a crowd.
