I was disappointed with the level of customer service I experienced today. There was only one associate in the store who lacked basic customer service skills. I have her name but I won’t display it. She was walking around putting items back in there belonging spaces. While she actively approached and assisted others around me, she walked past me several times without so much as a greeting or offer to help.
It was 12:53 PM on a Friday in the Juniors department. As someone who worked in retail many years ago, I was trained to treat every customer with equal attentiveness. Helping everyone wasn’t optional—it was part of the job, emphasized from day one in training.
With a background in both marketing management and psychology, I understand how critical customer engagement is—not just for sales, but for brand loyalty and overall experience. Ignoring customers not only feels dismissive, it reflects poorly on the store’s standards.
I hope management reinforces the importance of consistent, inclusive customer service...
Read moreService is always amazing but today they must've had a bad day. Shopping for my daughter's first homecoming dance dress we overlooked the closing time by a few minutes...big mistake on my part.....as the lights were completely turned off while we were in the dressing room, we let the staff know that my daughter was unable to see to get dressed, the staff member said it would only get worse (darker). As my family member tried to get them to help, staff proceeded to get loud and made the situation worse by taking on a demeaning tone. We were informed that if we wanted to take it up with the manager, that the manager was right there, as she pointed to who I'm assuming was the manager. Why would I when the manager is witnessing the whole thing and adding to the situation, as she was also raising her voice telling my family member how she needed to close the register. I only wish I had looked at their names so that I may avoid them next time. I really hope they don't treat everyone like we were...
Read moreMe and my friends went to Dillards to look for homecoming dresses and while we were looking 2 of my friends (who are both people of color) went to the makeup section to pass the time. While they were in the makeup section swatching different kinds of makeup a worker turns to a security guard and tells her to keep an eye on my friends in a sense that she thinks they’re stealing, she says this in front of my friends. So my friends leave the makeup department and the woman proceeded to follow around my friends with the security guard despite not seeing them steal anything. They did not in fact steal anything and I can guarantee that this would not have happed if they were white. I am absolutely appalled that this happened and I will not be coming back in the future if this is how Dillards treats...
