Cotton Tails — Local services in Memphis

After leaving a Bridal Brunch, me and my cousins decided to browse this beautiful store for one of their newborn twin daughters. The selections were amazing; from the old fashioned clothes, onesies, and cute little booties, etc. However, we could not move from one section of the store to the next without being questioned. We informed them we were just browsing, and we couldn’t even do that in peace. A few of them had on matching “Bride Tribe” t-shirts, and they were questioned on that as well. We are NOT in a gang! I frequent “Novel” often, and I recommended this store. After much too much questioning and following, the mother of the twins decided she’d had enough and gave up on browsing to shop. She was SO uncomfortable and offended by the covert discrimination and racism that she left out of the other door (where the two stores meet). I entered the store on 4/2/24 intending to buy a bow and socks for my daughter. I found the items we needed and approached the employee at the register. After waiting for a few moments without being acknowledged, I politely greeted the employee and asked if she was working. Instead of a friendly response, the employee reacted with disdain, asking me what I needed in a dismissive manner. Feeling surprised and put off by her attitude, I mentioned that I only wanted to purchase the items but if she was not in the mood to help, I would not make the purchase. The employee quickly changed her tone and offered to assist me, but I was still disappointed by the way she treated me. We went to visit this very cute store right after my husband and I found out we were having a baby girl. The customer service was awful. Never asked to hold our stuff or help us with anything, just followed us around and stalked us the whole time like we were going to steal!! I would have gladly spent a lot of $$$ at this very cute store, but I hated that I was being watched over like I was going to steal something any second. AND THEN when we did check out the lady that was watching us the whole time asked if we wanted our things gift wrapped.... didn’t even care to ask or congratulate us on having a baby but assuming we were shopping for someone else. I will never go back here....
