EDIT: I'm back (same day) to update this review from 1 to 3 stars. It took posting a review publicly to get a response but the senior manager for the location reached out and we had a very constructive conversation. He apologized for the delivery shortcomings and is working to make things right. In addition, he genuinely took my feedback and discussed his action plan to mitigate these types of issues in the future for our region.
ORIGINAL: One of the best to one of the worst experiences ever. Our designer was fantastic and helped us through all the way through ordering.
The delivery was a nightmare...
The delivery people showed up an hour after the end of the delivery window. The delivery people initially refused to move the existing couch even though Ethan Allen's delivery scheduler told me they would for $25 each. As the delivery truck pulled away it side-swiped and destroyed our mailbox.
Ethan Allen support through all of this was NON EXISTANT.
It was incredible, I was never once able to get in touch with my original designer after the delivery failures AND the customer service agent I was told to contact informed me he isn't the customer service agent for our region and could not help us. No one else ever contacted us from Ethan Allen.
Fortunately, the delivery company VP personally made everything right and had our mailbox repaired. I'd do business with the delivery company again in a heartbeat but NEVER, EVER, buy anything from Ethan Allen if you expect any form of support after they...
Read moreThe furniture in the showroom looks nice. The prices suggest you are paying for quality. That ended up not being our experience. We spent $4K on two chairs and an ottoman that pilled terribly after less than three years of use. The fabric didn't stand the test of time. What's worse - and the point of this post - is the reaction I received from Customer Service. The initial response was great, but then the person listed as the Regional Customer Service Manager for the Great Lakes Region handled the follow-up contact. This was merely an email. It essentially said they were sorry to disappoint us, but the warranty had expired. I didn't read any interest on her part in learning more about what might have been the problem. Out of warranty or not, this is not the right attitude to take with a customer having spent that kind of money. At least show some interest and investigate and present options. The texture, design, and feel of their products are simply better than what is offered by the competition, and that is why we pay more for it. But, the reason we are writing this review is to talk about the exceptional level of customer service the staff provided us. The process of choosing, making, and delivering the furniture we wanted for our forever home took eight months. This was more than enough time to provide their staff with the opportunity to demonstrate and for us to evaluate the quality of their custom service.
