Upon arriving, I noticed about 6 vehicles parked outside. So it looked as if they were not that busy. I walked inside and waited to be seated in a booth across from the sushi bar. I was the only person in that side of the restaurant and had the thought of hoping I wouldn't be forgotten. When I sat down, the menu was sticky and had some food residue on it. The table had old rice on it that looked to have been there all day. They took my drink order, which was a sweet tea no ice. Brought me my drink and shortly after I ordered 2 sushi rolls, no cucumber(around $22 total), miso soup, and salad. "For sushi orders over $20, you receive a complimentary miso soup and salad" that is posted on their menu's at the top of each sushi page. My waitress told the owner/sushi chef at lease 3 times to not add cucumber. When she brought me my salad, she asked if I wanted ice in my tea. I told her I did not want ice added to my tea. She walked away and I was surprised that the salad was much bigger than most other Japanese restaurants. I looked around my table and only had chopsticks with no fork for my salad. The owner was busy making my sushi and no one else was around for me to ask for a fork, so I waited. When another guy brought me my soup, which was much bigger than other soups I have ordered, I asked for a fork and he apologized for there not being one at my table. Which no tables had any silverware, just chopsticks and a napkin. My first sushi roll finally got delivered and of course it had cucumber in it. The owner came over there and noticed he messed up. He apologized and took it back to remake it. Second roll came out and was made correctly. First roll was remade and the owner/sushi chef rings a bell for waiter/waitress to come and deliver the order. No one came to get my food and the owner walked out from behind the sushi bar and left my sushi there, walked passed me, and helped another couple that walked in through the door. After helping them, he finally went back to get my sushi and while on his way back to me, my waitress met him and delivered me my sushi. She asked if I wanted a drink refill and I accepted. She brought my sweet tea and she decided to add ice even though I told her I didn't want ice when she asked the first time. I finished eating, sat and waited about 10 mins before someone came and checked on me. I asked for my check and finally got it 5 mins later. I looked at my check and she charged me for my soup and salad. I pointed it out to her and she told me that the soup wasn't free but the salad was. Even though my sushi was messed up, I got forgotten about, she messed up my drink refill, and the fact their menu states miso soup and salad were complimentary, you would think she would be understanding and take the soup off as well. I was one guy in a restaurant that wasn't that busy, there shouldn't have been any problems, nor should I have been forgotten about. When she gave me ticket to sign, she took all plates and my tea that I was still drinking! It was still full and instead of asking if I'm done with it, she takes it anyway. Never again will I be going there. I've never had that many problems from any other restaurant even when I was with a group of people. It was not worth all the problems for me being the only...
Read moreWill never be back! My mother, grandmother, and I made a visit to this "business" on 3/18/23. When we arrived, we were seated immediately by a very friendly waiter and everything was off to a great start. The waiter continued to bring us refills and eventually soup and salad after taking our orders. As we were waiting on our food, another gentleman came in and sat on the opposite side of our table--there were three or four chairs still empty beside my grandmother. Eventually, a nice couple came in and sat in those seats and started making conversation with us. Well, as we three (my mom, grandmother, and I) were too busy chatting to take notice of the time, the couple at our table that had come in last asked us how long we had been there. After some talking, it came to our realization that we had been there AN HOUR with no sight of our chef. Well, the couple decided they were tired of waiting because they had now been there 30 minutes, so they decided to leave. We thought about leaving, but decided that we would see what was going on first, so my mom got up and had to hunt someone down to ask them what was going on. After asking, she came back to the table with the waiter following behind--of all things he walks up and asks us if we remembered what we had 🤦🏻♀️.... Well, at this point we should have just admitted defeat and went somewhere else, but instead we stayed... Finally our chef came out. He did not seem too happy about being there. He was not very interactive as most chefs are and didn't put on much of a show... The food was okay, but not great. We also heard a woman at another table get upset because the people at her table had all gotten their food and ate and hers still had not been brought out... She told them to cancel her order and they really had the audacity to tell her, "well you ordered it". As soon as you walk in you see a sign that reads "all customers will be charged 18% gratuity... I guess scamming people is how they stay in business because this...
Read moreIf I could give less than 1 star, I would. I called in an order to pick up on my lunch break. I stated 2 sushi rolls and shrimp tempura for my order. The lady that answered the phone and took my order stated that it would be ready in 10 minutes due to them not having any other call-in orders at the time. I waited for another 15 minutes before leaving my job, just to give extra time and to ensure that it would definitely be ready. Well, 30 minutes later I am standing at their register waiting on my rolls and waiting to pay. The waitress goes to check on my rolls. The chef was not even around. She had to find him in the back. Along with that, she then asked me..."What was the 2nd roll that you wanted, I wasn't sure?" So at this point, I knew that the 2nd roll that I ordered was not even ready. The chef comes in and informs me that he knows that he is slow. Another chef takes a phone call and proceeds to yell out loud, after hanging up on the customer, that time is money and he will not hold on. At this point, the sushi chef is supposed to be frying my shrimp tempura. Instead, he made a shrimp tempura sushi roll. The waitress thought that it was funny and told him that she would take the sushi roll that he had made and eat it herself and that he needed to make me the shrimp tempura. She then walks off with the sushi and forgets about me. She went to eat her sushi. I waited for 5 more minutes alone. I then decided that if they did not even care enough about me as a customer, then I would not be giving them my money or support for their establishment. I will NOT be eating here ever again. By the way, this is the 2nd bad experience that I have had with Shogun. I usually give 2nd...
