My friend got married. This hotel was one of 3 hotels where a block of rooms was reserved for the wedding guests. I drove 7 hours to Memphis from Indiana. The wedding started at 4pm, I arrived at 12:30pm. I let the gentleman at the desk know that I was there and he said there weren't any rooms ready just yet. I let him know that I was there for a wedding that starts at 4 and he said that he would text me when my room was ready. I left to buy shoes and get food. At 2:30p I decided to go back thinking that maybe he forgot to text me (this has happened before). I arrive at 2:41p and see a large group of people outside preparing to board the shuttle that had been provided by the bride and groom for the wedding guests at each hotel. (I asked the driver to make sure they were going to the same wedding and yes, they were). I went inside to the desk and asked if my room was ready. I was told no. I turned and pointed to the group of people getting on the shuttle and said I'm supposed to be going to THAT wedding. Two additional people were behind the desk at this point, and one of them checked the computer, then called housekeeping to see if they had the room ready. Again, it wasn't ready. But I was assured that housekeeping was on their way up to the floor to get the room prepared. He asked me to give him 5 minutes. I said ok (but if we're being honest, I don't want a room that's cleaned in 5 minutes). Well, 5 minutes turned into 32 minutes. He called my name at 10 past 3, checked me in, gave me keys, etc. I got into the room at 3:21p and into the shower at 3:23p. By the time I had finished ironing, got dressed, and hopped in the car, it was 3:56p. (I currently have a severely sprained wrist that is in a splint so everything is a challenge). I put the address in the GPS and it's 21 miles away. A 32 minute drive. Again, I look at the clock and my eyes begin to water. I proceed to drive according to the directions. I arrived at 4:28p. I get out of my vehicle and I see the dogs (they were in the wedding), and I hear people cheering. By the time I get around the building, they are taking pictures and the guests are headed inside for hor d'oeuvres. I missed the wedding. The whole reason I drove to Tennessee, was to witness and support a friend on one of the most important days of his life. After 2 hours, I went back to the hotel (I hate diving at night and about 10 miles was on a one lane street with no street lights). The next morning I packed up to go back to Indiana. When I went to check out, the same gentleman I talked to upon my arrival, was working again. He asked if I enjoyed my stay. I shook my head no. He asked why. I said, I came here for a wedding and I missed it because my room wasn't ready. He replied we got you to your room at 3. I said no, you called my name at 3:10p and took another 10 minutes to get me checked in and to my room. I had 40 minutes left to shower and get dressed. Didn't even get to properly do my hair and make myself presentable to my liking. I came here for a wedding I didn't get to see. So no, I did not enjoy my stay. He tried to pacify me by offering points. I drove 7 hours for nothing. I basically went on a 14 hour joyride. I am not...
Read moreOne star is far too many. We booked a room. for 3 nights. Room is old, dirty and in desperate need of repair. Bathtub will not stop running. It runs constantly. The toilet isn't working and when we inquired about changing rooms, they conveniently didn't have any available. When we said you can't legally let us stay in a room without a working bathroom, they said we could always use the one in the lobby. We're on the 3rd floor so what happens in the middle of the night when I need to use the restroom? I have bladder issues so that's going to be real fun. I had to go at 2:45 am and the lobby restroom was on the other side of the bar area and around the corner. I felt extremely unsafe as there was no one around. The staff is beyond rude and makes no effort to help with questions or concerns. As I was coming in with the luggage cart, since I had never been in this hotel before I asked am I going the right way to the elevator. Without looking at me, she very said yes in a very snippy manner and kept on with her personal conversation. I bothered you during social hour while I needed to find the way to my room. The mattress is horrible, we slept all of about 2 hours. The luggage carts are small and don't hold much so be prepared to make several times to get all of your luggage. The windows are so dirty you can't see out of them. The thermostat fluctuates constantly and the carpet smells. I will never use this hotel chain again. Not just this particular hotel, I will never use this chain again and I will most definitely let everyone know to stay clear of this hotel chain. We booked through Priceline, and after we were told no rooms and no maintenance worker would be there until 7 am and no manager there, we called Priceline. They told us there were plenty of rooms. We also looked online and saw there were 4 rooms available. The employee working wouldn't give us a refund on this nights stay because we were using the bed and the water so therefore we were using their facilities. Even though the toilet wasn't wasn't working, the bathtub wouldn't turn off and overhead light wouldn't come on. The elevators smelled like weed and the hotel was very dirty. There are so many things that need attention and the staff would be first on the list. Rude and hateful is putting it mildly. After speaking with the day shift employee, he tells us the room we were in never should have been booked because they knew of the problems. If you are overbooking rooms, that's a big problem for when people come in expecting a room after traveling all day. He said they could find another hotel for us. I most definitely would never want to stay anywhere they...
Read moreFirst and foremost, DO NOT STAY HERE. I don’t care how cheap it may be compared to surrounding hotels. The staff here are very mischievous, liars, and ineffective at their job. I was charged $299 at check in (including incidental). I stayed here for 24 hours. I check my account the day after checkout only to see that I had been charged $250 and refunded $249.01 (which should’ve been the cost without the incidental). Confused as I was, I called Hilton corporate and informed them of the issue and I was told the $250 was a smoking fee. I’m not a smoker. Hilton corporate made a claim of the situation after they weren’t able to get management at this dump to refund the fee. I was told it would be 3-5 business days before someone looked at the claim. I called the hotel a total of 4 times myself personally. Two times I was transferred to the manager and the phone went to voicemail after a few rings. The 3rd time I explained my issues to a male clerk who then told me “a housekeeper said the room smelled like weed and they got the manager to confirm it”. He also stated the manager on duty was not in and he would be returning at an unknown time and he offered to take my name and number down. Now what was odd about this situation is how could this clerk make up that fantastic lie without the manager being present 🧐. I called back 2 hours later for the 4th time and the assistant manager (Malcom) finally answered. He looks into everything and comes back to say the housekeeping team said the room was smoked in. I said what proof do you all have to say someone smoked in a room. He goes on to say tampering of the smoke detector, etc. I said well everything you named didn’t happen. I also asked what time did they “discover” this lie. He says at 9:30am. I said I checked out on the app at 8:58am. I said so you meant to tell me 30 minutes after I checked out they came up with this lie?! He puts me on hold and says that these fools said they found cartons in the trash can. I said cartons as in CIGARETTES???! He said yes. I laughed and said there’s no way that’s true. Nothing was left in the trash but food containers. I said yeah they must have the wrong room. He says “oh I’ll talk with the individuals who authorized the charge because I wasn’t here and give you a call back. I said ok. 2 hours later I check my email and see the $250 had been refunded. Never received that phone call Malcom🙂. I guess hotel staff can lie and fraudulently charge their guest😌🙄😒. Not only that… the towels were dirty. I had about 3 towels that contained pubic hair and hair from the scalp....
