Waffle House — Restaurant in Memphis

Ok. 10:30pm on 3/7/15. 5 customers in restaurant when I arrived. 1 Waitress on duty when I walk in and sit at counter says "I'll be right with you. 20 mins later asks what I want to drink. I politely say water now and a glass of cold milk with my meal (I would have put milk in freezer right then). I also told her I would have all-star with country ham. I get water within several minutes. About 20 mins later I get waffle which was the thing out of whole meal. About 10 mins later I get country ham which was hot and pretty good. About 20 mins after that I over medium eggs with white oozing out, scattered hash browns which were a very cool tempature at best and toast barely brown mostly white had solid butter on it not melted (a first for me at any greasy spoon in my 45 yrs) Almost forgot I got a luke warm glass of milk 15 mins later. Ok. I'm eating because I'm hungry. The very unproductive nice waitress starting washing dishes in front of me at counter. She has this kind of tired forced smile on her face and says, " everything ok sir." I looked at her with a mouthful of breakfast and looked her straight in the eye with a smirky smile and shook my head in a circle trying not to laugh and all the food fly out my mouth. I finished my food paid and gave the waitress $5 & the cook $3. I forgot the cook looked real tired and like he didn't want to be there (come on who would). Anyway the moral of the story is that the waffle, water & country ham were very good. Waitress and cook probably need more training and help. I was in very good mood also. This is one of the WORST services I have had. I ordered a Steak Cheese Bowl and Bacon Egg and Cheese bowl with No Egg. I wanted my bacon crispy and hash browns well done. When they bring my order out it's a sausage egg and cheese bowl. NOT what I ordered. I send it back. When she comes the second time the bacon and hash browns are correct but it still has sausage in it. I sent it back again..I do not eat sausage. When she brings it back this time my partner has eaten his food and I have yet to eat. Look at my order and the bacon is crispy at all and the hash browns aren't well done. The server seemed to be surprised when I sent it back and said I don't want anything just take it off. It's been over 20 minutes AFTER my partner has finished eating. The other thing is the ticket was on the table BEFORE the food even came. When she took the food back each time the cooks had attitude about it. Well if you got it right the first time it wouldn't be an issue. Oh and there were only two couples in the building us and another...so NO they were NOT slammed. I will not come back...

Had a craving for breakfast at dinner. I called in my order. When I arrived, there was one table of people eating. There were three tables that were full of dirty dishes. They were still working on my order. The total was $31.80. I gave the woman a four dollar tip. I got home and noticed that they had not given me my complete order. I called the restaurant, and the woman wasn’t very friendly, but told me I could come back for my food. I made a second trip to the store for the rest of my order. When I got home I looked at the receipt. There was a service charge of $2.65 and also a to go fee of $2.65. I did not see a sign anywhere stating that these extra charges would be added to my order. I find this to be a little bit ridiculous. Food is expensive as it is without all the other extra charges. Had this been DoorDash, I would understood the extra fees. This is not...
