Wow. What a great experience. CPR saved our iPhone X. Even after Apple support said it was dead and would require $500 to fix the logic board. CPR determined it was only an antenna issue. Only charged us $60 for the parts and labor. Thanks guys you are a life saver. Highly recommended! Here’s the complete scenario if any one is curious.
I bought my son a used iPhone X for Christmas. It worked like new for 3 weeks. Then one afternoon my son mentioned that he could not get cellular connection. His Wifi worked fine. He took his SIM card out and it worked fine on his old iPhone 6 so it didn’t seem to be a SIM card issue.
After researching it a bit we decided to do a soft reset but that was no help then tried a hard reset but again no difference then resorted to a factory reset. Still no change but now it was even worse. We couldn’t activate it so we couldn’t use it at all even with Wifi. So we took the phone to Verizon to have it looked at. Verizon determined it was a hardware issue. They were guessing it was an antenna issue. Strange that would even be an issue since he never dropped it or got it wet.
Next step was to contact Apple Support. The Mayfair store was only accepting reservations so I decided to try Apple Support through their chat. The tech was very helpful and after about 20 minutes or so he performed a complete diagnostic on the phone. It was determined to be a cellular modem issue and would cost $549 to fix. It’s only worth $350 so we decided not to. Of course we were bummed until someone recommended looking at local repair services. That’s when I reached out to CPR. Would never hesitate to recommend these guys....
Read moreWent in seeing if they can update the RAM off my 2008 iMac. Had to wait until Wed when their mac guy came in (no prob I see good reviews I don't mind waiting) Get a call later that Wed saying it is not worth putting more RAM in it, due to age, accessing the ram, finding parts for it, and just putting money into an old machine. Go to a "local store" to buy a brand new one after telling them my story. "Local" store employee gives me a bewildered look. Upgrading the RAM on an iMac this old is probably the easiest and most affordable thing on any Apple product and gave me the name of online stores that sell RAM. See vidoes provided by online merchant and YouTube. Accessing the RAM is so simple, it is at the base of the station and you need a tiny phillip's head, there are even pictures etched on the bay cover on how to do it. It only took me less than 10 minutes and $38 for parts and shipping. The front of the screen did not even need to come off as I was told in a message. Would be zero stars if given the chance, but I was not charged anything, and the young gentleman I dealt with in person twice was very nice. But common, to say It is a difficult job and parts may not be available was...
Read moreI went to my cell carrier because my cell service kept going out and eventually wouldn’t come back on at all. They told me there was nothing they could do and that I should buy a new phone. They looked at my phone for less than 5 minutes. I took the phone to CPR over my lunch break. They immediately provided me with a loaner phone so I could keep working. I was able to get back to work on time while they worked on my phone for two full days to see if they could help with it. It was an old iPhone and was probably due to be replaced anyway. They kept me updated frequently. They were able to work out a couple issues but in the end, my phone was not able to be repaired. They spent two full days trying to diagnose the problem and didn’t charge me anything for their work-up because they were not able to repair the phone. While I still had to buy a new phone, I felt much more confident that I was doing the right thing in buying a phone to replace the old one that I was now certain was not salvageable after their thorough diagnostic work-up. I will be a customer for life! These people know how to treat a customer and are very...
