Harvey’s Central Grille — Restaurant in Mequon

My wife and I searched for someplace we thought would be a nice stop for dinner before an evening appointment - not too long and not too expensive. Unfortunately, this place did not meet either criteria. We were seated immediately and got a table near the fireplace as we were early in the evening, but service thereafter was seriously delayed. After getting our food we didn't see out waitress for over 35 minutes. By the time a bus-girl flagged her down we were late to leaving, and it took longer to get our bill. The food was overpriced for the quality and quantity, although my wife did enjoy her sesame crusted Ahi tuna. My steak sandwich had under-cooked onions and meat (and we weren't going to wait for a redo). We won't be looking to return...

Harvey's is one of my absolute favorite restaurants ever! The food is amazing!!! Did I say IT IS amazing! :) The ambiance is delightful, contemporary, with local artists displaying their work. It has 5 different areas, so you always feel semi private and relaxed. One area is outdoor with a fireplace that is so fun. I've reserved the 2 different private rooms, never a charge for the room, wow! The bartenders are always creating great new drinks, so fun. The wine selection is on point. There's even a wine evening where you can try numerous wines each week. I've been coming here for years, always great service, friendly and helpful staff, food prepared with perfection and the place is always so clean....

Popped in with a reservation for 6 on a weekend. Hostess and bartenders were great. Our server was Dan and he did tell us it was going to be a slow food night. And boy was it. Just over two hours for mains. But again, Dan was great. As was the rest of the staff. If not for them, I'd expect most people would have walked out from the food delay - which to be fair, they did handle as well as they could have. The food was good, steaks, pasta, salads, wine, desert. Six hundred bucks. lol. We just were not expecting to be there for almost 3 hours. But again, we had fun, decent food and drinks. I'd go back. But don't be in a hurry, or trying to save money. I have to drop a star for the absurd kitchen delay....
