3 months ago, we brought our little dog Enzo with our 6-year-old granddaughter to the beach for a vacation. Enzo is a fetching machine. I threw the ball, he flew after it, screamed, and came back limping!
When we got home and took him to our vet, he said yes, he shows positive cranial drawer sign. His suggestion was to take him home and treat him as if he had surgery, then bring him back in about a month to see how he was doing. Fortunately, my Google search landed me on Top Dog. I downloaded the Guide and proceeded with the protocol. Enzo was an excellent PT patient. That was a surprise because he had been an extremely active 10-year-old (not 11) 12-pound yellow Chihuahua/Terrier. He was confined with his cozy bed. When he could have more freedom in the house, we moved the furniture so he could no longer jump up & down. This was a total change of lifestyle to his being “on duty,” hopping on the back of the couch to bark at cars as they drove past our house. We only took him outside to “take care of business,” and always on a leash. (He could no longer bomb out the dog door to clear the area of squirrels.)
After a little more than a month, we had an appointment with the surgeon and anesthesiologist and we scheduled surgery. It took awhile to get an appointment, so we just kept up with the schedule in the Guide. Last week, I received an amazing call the morning after dropping him off for surgery. The Doctor said he did not need surgery. After reviewing his x ray, examining him again, and asking the other surgeon to do the same, they decided he is doing well and to just keep doing what we are doing! So, I picked Enzo up and we are continuing to follow the schedule in the Guide. Thank you so much for caring about our dogs by providing such a practical, easy to follow, and effective tool.

Read moreTopDog Health was a resource recommended by our veterinarian who also supplied us with a hard copy of the TPLO Rehab Guide. This guide, along with Dr. St. Clair's videos and weekly emails has proven to be invaluable during our dog's TPLO rehab period.
The TPLO Rehab Guide was clear and thorough with regards to exercises and modalities to implement with our dog during her rehab allowing us to be sure that we were on track and giving her the best opportunity to recover.
Additionally, we received weekly emails to chart our progress and reassure us when there might have been small setbacks or slowed progress. The website included short videos that explained the modalities we used as well as exercises to perform which allowed us to see exactly how to proceed and implement them.
All in all, TopDog Health and Dr. St. Clair's guides and website were an invaluable resource that has allowed us to take ownership for our dog's rehab and provide the necessary repetitions and exercises to ensure a full recovery and provide reassurance during the process. This is a must resource for anyone who must take their dog through...
Read moreThe rehab directions on this site are the best!!! I was told my dog could be cripple after just two weeks post surgery if I wasn't doing rehab right, but even though I'm in a big metroplex, NO ONE would start rehab for a month. I loved having the week by week directions. I love the weekly emails reminding me where my dog should be at in her recovery. I love the bonus exercises to migrate to as my dog seemed ready. I call the step off the curb / on the curb my drunken walk as I'm having my dog stagger so to speak instead of taking a straight path. I HIGHLY recommend the directions on this site. If you are starting your journey to help your dog recover - don't skip steps, don't slack off. It's hard to find the time, but my dog's x-rays at 8 weeks show NO inflammation, no start of arthritis and I hope are a good sign that some day, she'll be ready to be a competitive agility dog again. I CAN"T THANK YOU ENOUGH for providing the guide and videos! Although I paid a local rehab facility - the best info I got and the most helpful for my at home rehab sessions was this site. THANK YOU THANK...
