Empire Pizza — Restaurant in Meriden

I have lived in Meriden for 20 years now. We have always ordered from empire. It started because we live right down the road but soon as we tasted their food and received their service we were very happy and continued to order. We still order today 20 years later. But unfortunately last lately the prices has gone up and the quality of the food has gone down. For example Last night we ordered two grinders. The bread has changed, the bread is smaller which means the grinder is smaller. When we opened the grinder their was barley any meat and it was burnt. The total with a 2 liter of soda came to 34$ plus tip it was 38$. I always tip well because the service and food is normally always good. But I was very dissapointed. Lately the quality of food has just gone down. And we are very disappointed because we enjoy the food so much it taste wonderful. Don’t get me wrong the taste and flavor is still there. But the quality and amount of food you get for the price is no enough. I’d rather spend the same amount of money and get Chinese and get three or four meals Out of...

I work at a medical office where we frequent local eateries. We were SHOCKED and EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED at the scam/highway robbery system they have and do not make the paying customers aware of upon ordering. If you choose to order a pizza from them and would like a crushed red pepper, garlic powder or parmesan they charge you $1.50 for EACH side (picture attached). I have NEVER in my entire life heard of this. When our delivery order price didn't match with their menu prices, we called back and the girl snottily responded that they charge $1.50 for each, only time you will not be charged is if you dine in and use what's on their table, she also told us our food was already out for delivery and essentially nothing she was willing to do. Not even long time, well established pizza places such as Modern and Pepe's don't charge for sprinkles. I ordered delivery through the Slice app so not only did I pay for my meal but also the delivery fee, local fee, tax and tip. I get a frantic call saying to go to a different location to pick up my pizza. I didn't get offered for the delivery person to go redeliver my pizza but essentially I had to redeliver my pizza myself. I was initially waiting outside my job for the pizza then after being to I had to pick up my pizza I walked to the building next to me. Pizza not there. Then I had to go back in my office to get my keys to hunt down my $50 lunch order. Luckily I found it and it was thankfully safe in another office building but of course it was cold and I wasn't evened offered anything for the inconveniences.
