Went into bobs looking for a recliner for Christmas. Found one that was perfect but relatively cheap in price. The lady said it would be 2 months for shipping and wanted to show us more expensive ones. We did a lap around the store and came back to the first recliner and noticed a tag that said âships in time for the holidaysâ so we looked it up online and the lady immediately came over saying she made a mistake and it was a different recliner that would be 2 months and that this one would be delivered in early January. Perfect! Also picked out a rug on clearance that would go with it. As we were checking out the lady asked if we wanted it delivered to the front door or delivered and installed inside my home. Had to ask her the prices and we told her we would like to pick it up in the store since it goes there anyways and save 40 dollars. She asked if we wanted âgoofâ protection for $40 dollars which we also denied since we have a pet and expect the furniture to get a little messed up. âBobâ the manager came over and stated that they always have someone double check the sale for accuracy and ensuring everything is right. He ran us through the protection offer and delivery offers again which we denied. They stated they had to ring up the rug separately since it was clearance which was no big deal. We pay for the recliner and the total ended up being 371 which I thought was a lot of tax for a 299 recliner so I looked online to see the price it gave there. The price online was also 371 but that included the delivery service. I brought this up to the associate and she stated âIâll take a look at it but letâs take care of the rug now.â I told her no letâs fix this instead and after we reviewed our receipt she had charged us for the âgoof protectionâ which we denied several times. I told her we would like to cancel our order since we denied the protection several times and âbobâ had even come over to double check everything was âaccurateâ and somehow that box had still gotten checked. Bob came over and I told him it was weird that he came to double check the sale to ensure everything was right and something still got messed up. He stated it was human error and he apologized and offered to take the protection off to give us the accurate price. Didnât offer to make up for their mistake just to take off the protection. Far too many things went wrong for me to even consider shopping there again. Sketchy employees who are desperately trying to up-sell and sneak things by the customer. Bad experience. There is absolutely no reason or way that the protection could have been accidentally left on the bill after a second employee came to double check the sale and we denied the coverage to...
Read moreI was helping my mom choose a living room furniture set, she found a set she was excited about and we talked to the sales person Wendell Basel, she told him after deliberating for a couple minutes "I will take the set!" Now, instead of being satisfied with an easy sale and ethically trying to tack on the extras like the goof-proof insurance and white-glove delivery, he tried to sneak them onto the cost with out discussing it with my mother. In the middle of discussing finance options, she asked how much is it total for the set, by the way, he looked at his tablet for a second and quoted a price "it's 2,941 dollars," and we thought it was higher than expected. But my mom was excited about it so she said "oh, ok..." because why would he lie and she had already committed to buying the furniture set. So she continued with the process and when he brought the receipt, he explained there was a 5 year accident protection insurance and the more expensive white-glove delivery. After taking a look at the receipt, we calmly went to explain that we didn't need the more expensive delivery or the insurance. Wendell Basel did not apologize for trying to sneak those optional expenses onto the price of the furniture set. He did adjust them, but he seemed annoyed that he got caught or that we came back and confronted him about it. We were calm, and got it corrected, but he was rude and had a chip on his shoulder about it. I understand sales, and there is an ethical way to do it, and an unethical way to do it. I don't know if the managers teach or condone this kind of unethical sales tactics, but I am in sales, and if i am selling something to a client I explain every option to a client and sell the benefits. You do not try to sneak extras into the price that you are quoting because the client is excited. And if you do get caught trying to sneak additional optional services into the price that you are quoting you do not be rude to...
Read moreFirst Iâll tell you I made a purchase at a not discount furniture store off Metcalf Ave. a family owned business for years and after 5 months my recliner chair looked awful. After several disappointing phone conversations the text came out and told me my chair was NOT defective! So I went to the higher ups. This was not a cheap chair and I did take out the 5 year warranty but it was still under the stores warranty. After basically saying, âso your policy the customer is always wrongâ and being upset I finally got my money back! We had purchased furniture at Bobs in Merriam in April and was very happy with the entire experience. Donât let the prices fool you. The furniture is great plus they stand behind it 100% with no hassles. So we returned and our salesman K.C. a great and very pleasant young man helped me find just the right recliner that is very important for my health needs and then kinda a surprise my husband that had been just thinking about a new recliner loveseat for his theater room, well there it was also! Itâs a new line they just got in and came in the color I wanted and the color he wanted! The prices were unbelievable!! Looks super fancy with all the bells and whistles. Also the store manager, Matt came over and introduced himself and was also very nice. Trust me after our experience with the â other letâs say higher priced store â, donât be fooled! I did have a problem with my swivel chair that we got in our first set of furniture back in April and there we no problem, a new on came ASAP.! They stand behind they word! You wonât beat there prices! And ask for K.C. You wonât be disappointed! They make shopping fun and easy on your pocket! Will never shop...
