Used to go here a lot but was turned off a month or so ago when I went there to the little hardware store that old grumpy lady runs. The one who is on the first row by the main parking lot, always by the entrance. Went to make a purchase, and pulled out my card. She says "ummm" and looks at me like im stupid, and taps on this little index card sized sign which is not forward facing its back is against the top of the table, and it says "cash only" and this rude ole bitter hag got the nerve to look at me like im stupid. for one- your products are trash, they are throw aways lets be real which is what i needed. it aint quality though so calm down. went to grab the cash we did have which was less than the total, and i said "well we have to take some things off i guess, and she huffs and puffs loudly rudely like shes inconvenienced it was so disrespectful i cant even tell you. and she goes "guess i gotta count it up again" at which point i grabbed my boyfriend and said no i dont want it anymore, lets go" and we walked away. Here's the deal. i get it, you're a senior, you're old and you're grumpy, this hurts that hurts i get that. However, it is not my fault that your situation sucks and you made poor choices with your later years so now you have to run a store. it is not my problem that you ache here and ache there. learn how to retain customers, and dont forget- we arent the ones begging you to buy our stuff. we are giving our money to you .clean up your attitude, and a 30 year old should not have to teach you how to act right. never going back solely because...

I drove from the far West side of the valley to visit this place and maybe find an item that a friend had purchased. They had cones blocking off the entrance from the West on Baseline, so we had to go into the next shopping center and come back from the East. The Enter/Exit is not clearly marked from the road.

It was a warm day (94F) and we got there around 1:30. There were not a lot of customers roaming around, which was nice, but at 2:00, quite a few of the booths started closing for the day (2 hours early). In addition, the advertised 1600 booths was not accurate. Almost the entire length (both sides of the last row on the West side) had no vendors at all.

We did find a few cool items that were purchased, including an awesome painting that lights up, but we never found the actual item we wanted. There are probably a dozen booths that sell metal art (my favorite), but they were all pretty much the same.

We did go into dozens of booths to look around, and most had unfriendly people working in them. I had seen that in other reviews and thought, "Why wouldn't they be friendly if they want sales?" I guess I'm still wondering that. Maybe the heat made them grumpy.

I do plan to go back one more time when it cools off again, just to see if it's a better experience. Maybe next time, I'll stop by the scooter rentals. This place is massive and my legs were not happy...

2/18/24 had a great day at the Mesa Swap Meet except right at the end of the day. My friend and I saw this item that we both liked but waited to think about buying it. So it was 3:30 and my friend went to get the car and I was heading to return my scooter. On the way I stopped into the store to purchase the item. This was at 3:40. The lady asked if she could hall me and I told her what I was looking for and exactly where it was hanging. She says that’s already packed up and I don’t know which area I packed it in. She says sorry. Then she proceeds to walk over and I clip a curtain and pulled out the items I wanted. I apologized and said I’m sorry but I thought you were open til 4:00 and she says it’s past that and I said it only 3:40. She says well I have 45 minutes of work to do. Sorry that’s not my problem. If your hours are til 4:00 then people should be able to shop until that time. I can’t believe you would want to lose out on a sale just because you want to close up early. I did purchase the items, but the more I thought about I wish I would have told her to shove them you know where. I didn’t appreciate the guilt trip or her attitude. Maybe she shouldn’t be in retail. If you don’t want to be open til 4 then adjust hours. It just wasn’t a very good ending to my...

I heard that this is the best place to find luggage at fantastic low prices and they are right. To save you the problem we had in finding the luggage, you need to go to the far right corner of the very first row of shops. The entrance to the swap meet is one way. The exit out is all the way around the building to the other side and there you will find a one way exit back onto Baseline road. Each tent row of shops has misters blowing down the center length attempting to keep shoppers cool with plenty of benches and trashcans. Each row of tents had parking spaces for the vendors to park and keep back stock in. The first 3 rows had indoor toilets and food courts. All food courts were CASH ONLY. You were never far from the free water fountains or from cool ice drinks sold there. In mid summer the hours are morning friendly and close at the hottest time of day 3pm. In July that was a killer to be there at 2pm. Many shops were closed or packed up. but there was still a good selection from summer vendors to find unique treasures that scream ARIZONA! At the middle tent there was live music performance at the largest food court the swap meet has to offer. It was very nice and several people stopped and relaxed on the picnic benches to listen.
