This island is very easy to see from the road, and looks very much like a premiere gated subdivision that just so happens to be a man-made island. As you're driving across Biscayne Bay on A1A towards Miami Beach, just take a look to the left shortly before approaching the "Welcome to Miami Beach" sign. I've gone on a tour through the gates and around the loop, which was somewhat like a tour through LA or NYC. The mansions on Star Island are giant, giant residences in every sense. And while there are some celebrities who live on the island year-round, many others come to their Star Island homes seasonally... Read moreit's been years since I was last there, but I definitely enjoyed the atmosphere and the different people I met. the best way to experience the island is to do your best to get invited, but that means actually learning to listen to controversial opinions and topics get discussed, which might be too much for narrow minds to fully understand, yadadamean?
