I was very excited to try aerial yoga for the first time while visiting Miami, but unfortunately this experience was more frustrating than anything. I struggled the entire time and not ONCE did the instructor come over to assist me. Barely even looked at me, even though I made sure to keep my eyes locked on her with a helpless look, and she’d just look away every time. The most wild observation was watching her walk over to a few other students throughout the class, some that didn’t even look like they needed much assistance. But never once walked over to me, even though I was clearly struggling with most poses and could not get on the drape without it hurting in some positions. I was the only brown girl in there, so I’m unsure if that played a role. It sure did not feel inclusive.
I did arrive 15 min late, so maybe I missed out on the basics, however the fact that not once I was offered any help or encouragement was highly disappointing. Considering I did not know what I was doing. And considering that I literally heard her encouraging others in their moments of struggle. I felt like a fool and honestly was ready to walk out. I will say I did at least get a small portion of the relaxation at the end, when it came down to the very simple positions in shavasana.
I would have enjoyed it more if my needs were being tended to. Maybe a private 1+1 class elsewhere is what would suit me best.
Edit to respond to owner’s response. There was actually no notice of any late fees or what “appropriate” attire should be. In neither text or email confirmation. Not to mention I wore sweats and a tube top. What in the world was I supposed to wear??? Also noticed a few wearing a sports bra, so what exactly is appropriate attire?? To say I was disruptive to guests with my attire when no one was even paying the slightest attention to me, is the farthest reach and very false.
As I stated, not a single effort was made to reassure that I was safe and feeling encouraged. Although I witnessed assistance being offered to other participants. Didn’t even address the main concern. You won’t invalidate my experience and call my statements false, when I clearly lived it. What I do take accountability for is arriving late, even though I was visiting from out of town and had no control over...

🥹When I tell you my body and mind felt amazing walking out of there, I mean it!! Her studio is such a safe, welcoming, and spotless space, and her energy and voice? Absolutely heavenly.
😬I’ll be honest…I was a little hesitant at first. As a plus-size woman (who is learning to fully love herself, her body, and this self-love + fitness + healing journey), I had a tiny moment of “uh oh… I better not be the one to knock a rafter or ceiling anchor loose .” But those things are SOLID, and so is Roya and her class!! 🫶🏻I felt seen, cared for, empowered, and encouraged. The stretches brought such an incredible release, physically and mentally!! I truly needed that today, such a beautiful & life changing moment!!
🤗I’m genuinely so thankful that I stepped out of my comfort zone and said YES to something new. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of the classes she offers… and who knows…maybe someday I’ll bring a studio like this to the West Coast of Florida myself & would be honored to learn from Roya, the best!! I’ve got a whole list of dreams…
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼If you needed a sign to step out of your comfort zone and do something that challenges and uplifts you…this is it. 💖 💫🖤🫶🏻Love & move your body. Love yourself. And find joy in movements that makes you feel alive!! 10/10 would recommend this...
Read moreI can't not say enough good things about RF Studios Miami!! It truly is a hidden gem in South Beach. I'm not an exercise person by any means but what the owners Sid and Roya have created is incredibly special! I first came across them on ClassPass. I had just moved here and I was trying several places but nothing felt exciting enough to join as a member until I took one of their classes. I was instantly hooked. RF Method is not only a full body workout, it's exciting and fun. The music makes you feel like you're in a concert reliving your favorite throwbacks while getting the best sweat of your life!!
Since then I joined as a member, and I've lost 12lbs and counting. I've made so many friends that are genuine and caring. We hold ourselves accountable and when one isn't in class we're all checking in making sure they're ok. I don't know anywhere else you can experience that.
I've even grown out of my comfort zone and tried classes like Aerial Yoga, Bungee, and Hero Reformer - something I would never have dared to do before. My suggestion to anyone who is on the fence is JUST SHOW UP and you'll be glad you did. They have something for everyone literally. Your age, limitations, weight, body type NOTHING matters here everyone is welcomed and included. We all support one another and encourage each other to...
