I’ve been going to Pura Vida West Avenue for 5 years since I live at the Mirador, and I always loved this place. Unfortunately, my last three visits have been really disappointing because of Marti, who has consistently been unpleasant for no reason.
For example, today I ordered a latte with vanilla syrup, but since the system now forces you to order through the machine, there was no option to specify how many pumps. My latte came out extremely sweet (at least 4 pumps, even my brother tried it and said it was impossible to drink). I politely asked if it could be remade with less syrup and told her I didn’t mind paying for it, but Marti was very rude and clearly didn’t want to help. She eventually made it, but then went inside, pointed at me to another employee, and laughed. (This was around 9:30 am, cameras would confirm this.)
On another recent visit, I wanted to add a shot of espresso to my matcha but again the machine didn’t allow customization, and Marti was unpleasant once more and clearly didn’t want to help. The time before that, she was outright rude to my friend.
It’s really unfortunate because I’ve always loved coming here, but these repeated experiences have made me not want to return. On the other hand, I want to highlight Eve, who is always kind, helpful, and truly represents the great service I used...

Having spent 10 years in the restaurant industry and another 10 in multi-unti restaurant marketing, I rarely come across a brand that impresses me at this level — and Pura Vida absolutely does.
I visited this location three days in a row with my sister, and every time the food, service, and atmosphere were flawless. The food looks exactly like the photos (a rarity in itself), the plating is stunning for fast casual, and the ambience is clean, detail-oriented, and thoughtfully curated with a chic boho vibe. Across multiple Florida locations, that consistency is remarkable.
What truly stood out were the people. Evelyn, the manager, was hands-on in every detail (pushing in chairs, wiping down tables, checking in with every guest) and she did it with genuine joy. Alex at the front counter brought the same energy: personable, friendly, and clearly happy to be there. After three days, we felt like friends with the staff.
Every time I’m in Miami, I know 100% that Pura Vida will deliver both great service and nourishing food. That kind of reliability and care is rare, and it’s why I’ll always come back.
P.S. The Pumpkin Spice Latte with pistachio milk is...
Read moreWas inside without a shirt on. Waiting on a $60 order. This is south beach miami let me remind you. I'm sitting outside and pretty much by myself and a person who works here the manager tells me to put a shirt on. I asked if I needed one while outside was told yes so I put a shirt on no biggie. Mind you they let people eat with dirty dogs at the tables. This is a self serve restaurant not fine dining. I've never had any Karen in south beach complain. Just had her glare at me believe me when I say I'm never coming back and I was going to give 4 stars but after the look she just gave me It's a 2 star all the way. Karen needs a serious vibe check. Now she's giving me more dirty looks I'm wearing my shirt I have been since she asked me to put it on minding my own business. I'm just ready to never come back. Weird flex by the manager. There's 2 girls wearing a bathing suits but you had to go out of your way to tell a guy in a bathing suit in 86° weather to put a shirt on sitting in a corner outside....
