One of the Best sushi places in Miami!
I have been going there since opening week. Glad to have found this GEM away from the touristy Miami Beach hot-spots.
Definitely recommend the following:
Shishitto Pepper Appetizer: perfectly cooked reminded me of being in Madrid. I request it without the Bonito flakes because I am not to keen on them but they are perfectly grilled. Shishitto's are not known to be spicy but every once in a while you can get a Hott one so if you don't tolerate spice have someone else be the guinea pig.
Sashimi's: Salmon Sashimi: Microgreens and a ponzu-ish sweet sauce that very ingeniously gets placed around the salmon in case you are a purist!
Scallop Sashimi: Fresh and delicious but I usually go for one scallop dish for the night and wait for the Nigiri description!
Nigiri go-to's: **Bondi's Nigiri is not the usual plain nigiri. So, if you are a purist you might not be prepared for it!
Salmon- Have to have at least two orders of this. Fresh salmon with some secret-light brush of flavor that pairs perfectly and enhances the flavor of the salmon.
Scallop: This is my personal favorite! OMG! The scallop serving is a great portion and its always fresh. They brush a secret light sauce on it, and then put some fresh lemon/lime on it with a bit of zest and himalayan salt.... Melts in your mouth! I can have this alone and every day! If you love scallops you MUST try this!
Wagyu: I call this dessert! (even if they have a dessert menu :) ) It's a torched wagyu piece with some sweet sauce on top. The Wagyu nigiri melts in your mouth. You want to take your time savoring every piece of this nigiri!
There are more Nigiri's but those are my favorite!
Handrolls: Amazing, fresh crispy made to order and handed to you! Faves: Spicy Crab, Scallop and Wagyu(dessert vibes again, because of the richness and flavor!)
They added rolls to their menu recently: I do not recall the name but their Hamachi, Serrano something is to die for but filling!
I haven't tried anything I do not like! Plus the service is amazing!
Definitely one of the best omakase/sushi restaurants in...
Read moreBravo. 5 stars. Thank you so much! I've been crying to myself to sleep over the past 10 years because I have been unable to fulfill my sushi cravings due to my sudden allergy to wheat and grains. I've eaten sushi my entire life but was no longer able to digest both rice or even soy sauce due to these food intolerances.
Alas, arrives Bondi Sushi in Miami Beach. Located only a few blocks from my home, I came across their cauliflower rice sushi roles on Uber Eats. I was trying to curb expectations upon ordering but wow, 5 stars and not only hits the craving but thoroughly, thoroughly satisfies.
It comes with your choice of Miso Soup, Edamame, Seaweed Salad and some other options and is served with Tamari Sauce (GF Soy Sauce), Ginger, Wasabi and I added an Eel sauce for good measure.
They have a variety of rolls such as Yellowtail, Jualapeno Roles, etc but my favorites and go-to's are the classic Spicey Tuna and Salmon Avocado rolls - my favorite.
The only thing I'd say that can be improved upon is that you can't actually order the rolls at the restaurant!!! The owners for some strange reason have decided to only serve HAND ROLLS, on-site and do the traditional rolls for the convenience of delivery.
You'd think this is not much of a big deal but for whatever reason, for me, eating traditional rolls is much more enjoyable than consuming the hand rolls.
So I guess i'll be sticking to delivery for now or even with a date haha. I am still not sure the reason for this and would love it addressed but I am in no means complaining. If Bondi Sushi were to ever close, I'd cry and crawl back into my hole awaiting my next opportunity to enjoy an allergy free sushi roll.
So thank you so much you guys! this is the longest review I have ever written and I hope that as a local guide it helps your rankings and brings in...
Read moreThis place just recently opened up in Miami Beach so my boyfriend and I decided to go for our one year anniversary and it did not disappoint ! We did the Omakase which was $75 per person for 12 courses and it was very fresh, unique and delicious! It was 11 different nigiri courses (including toro, wagyu, ikura, madai, salmon, hamachi etc) and the last course was a lobster handroll. Compared to most omakase experiences in Miami, it is very inexpensive with good value and good quality items. Each nigiri course was super unique and differentiates itself with different garnishes and ingredients that compliment the fish in a new and exciting way. We also decided to order edamame, crispy rice (which comes with 6 pieces and you can mix and match two different kinds), japanese beer and sake and a creme brulee with yuzu for dessert. The beverage options are limited currently as the venue just opened so I’m sure with time, that menu will develop. The edamame portion was also a little on the small side. Outside of this, nothing but amazing things to say. The service was excellent and the server even brought us the dessert complimentary for our anniversary. The space is intimate with limited seating at the sushi bar, so by the time word gets around about this place, you most likely will need reservations in advance. If you are dining there, they serve nigiri, sashimi, crispy rice, apps, hand rolls and omakase (no rolls/maki). They do serve rolls next door where they provide take out, but honestly if you are dining there, the nigiri and handrolls are out of this world, and you definitely wont be craving maki after having those. I wish i took photos, but I had such a wonderful experience, that I forgot to take any pictures. Highly recommend to any...
